I know everyone has their own opinion on oil change intervals. From the first 1,000 miles, 3,000 or 8,000 miles. Everyone has their reasons.
My plan is to do the first oil change at 6,500-7,500mi. Now, people talk about the first oil being dirtier than the rest due to tiny particulates and such from the wearing in process. Would there be any benefit in just changing the oil filter by itself at say, 2,000 or 3,000 miles? Then doing a complete change at the regular time frame? Or should I just let it go until it's time to change everything?
