Last Saturday I finally picked up my JTRD and was SO excited. Huge shout-out to Gupton Motors in TN for the best overall buying experience I've ever had.

Had to add my signature sticker before I went far to really seal the deal.

Had a fair drive ahead of me back to St. Paul MN where my current contract for work is. But decided to try and make the best of it. Unfortunately I got out of Gupton a little too late to head to Nemo Tunnel that day so decided to see what I could find along the way home. Still couldn't stop smiling ear to ear on the highway.

The next day I had found a place 2 hours southeast of the hotel I was at outside of St. Louis. Decided to give them a call and they were open so I headed down to Flat Nasty off road park and went wheeling without even 500 miles on it yet, I was just itching to go.

I stuck to the beginner trails being I am infact a beginner, and I'm driver what might as well be a city bus through the woods. The trails were definitely tight and made me VERY glad I specced the front trail cam. A couple of spots I was very not sure I would make it, but some patience and a few many point turns and we were in the clear. Made it through about half of the 20 trail before I had to pack back up and head north so I can make it to work the next day.

Let me tell you though this truck was absolutely everything I had hoped it would be. Offroading was SO enjoyable, it was warm enough to take one of the freedom panels off and it felt so nice. It was intoxicating to have that little 3 hour taste. I'm itching for more but the time will come. I initially thought I would be rearing for mods as I had planned an Evo 4.5" lift and 38s but man the truck performed so well on those trails and the stock look has really gown on me. I'll end up taking my time modifying it and enjoy it for now. The mod bug always bites me hard and that's how I ended up with what might as well be a "race car" with my STI.

Can't wait for more trails and more fun! Especially in spring/summer with the doors and top off!

You have good taste my friend! Was a hard choice between the white, sting grey, and snazzberry. But I'm so glad I went with the white. They just look so sharp in it.

Looks clean even when they’re not so much. I haven’t taken a day off since New Years so I gave mine a little bath before I got back from dinner.Just be careful. The first time that front end bottoms out on something your not expecting your heart will stop.

Thats exactly why I ended up with white, so easy to keep clean, and being its a daily thats incredibly ideal. Plus like I said theyre so sharp in white anyways.

Cant wait to lift with wheels and tires so I can see my vision as a reality but I also wanna take my time and enjoy it

Went snow wheeling for the first time yesterday! It was definitely a VERY different experience. Couple guys went with me (thank God) and brought stuff so we could air down and back up. I tried airing down to just 20psi and MAN that was not enough, the truck would struggle to keep traction and would dig holes for itself like you read about. Then aired down to 11-12 and WOW what a difference. I could stop on an up or down hill and continue with no problem.

There were many large "whoops" where the break over angle of these trucks in stock form was not enough, scrapped the belly pan a good few times. That never got easier to listen to but luckily its snow and not rocks.

The other JTR I was with was on a 2" spacer lift and 37s and MAN did it make me itch for a lift and wheels+tires. Still super on the fence about what I want though, originally I was all about 38s and a big lift. But the smaller lifts with 37s have grown on me a lot. I don't want to buy a lift and tires then immediately want more, but then again some of these trails it was nice not being so tall that my nice pretty white top would get scratched to shit lol.

So I'm strongly considering an aev spacer lift with some 37s for now and if I'm absolutely itching for more maybe go with a Clayton 3.5" and 38s. Time will tell though.

Huge shout-out to Ryan and Mike from Minnesota Overlanders FB page, they're the ones who came out with me and helped show me the ropes a bit. I'm new to 4x4ing, not offroading so a lot of the premise I understand, but definitely a lot for me to learn and I appreciate their kindness and willingness to help.

Thank you! Im absolutely loving every second of it. Even if I wasn't working in the salt belt right now I could not do that lol. She does look good dirty but not enough to let me leave her like that. White hides the schmutz from rain and salt well tho. Still make weekly stops at the car wash cause It just looks too good when its nice and clean (also cause FUK salt)

Not much going on recently! Had her out on a frozen lake here in Minnesota watching the ice racing, decided to dick around a bit in 4hi and noticed that at full lock turning either way the truck would clunk and shake aggressively (I was spinning the wheels pretty fast.)

Being this is my first 4wd that scared me.
Coming from Subaru land, if your car clunks/shakes like that while turning you either have a REALLY bad CV, or the center or front diff is cooked. So I made a service appointment, and recently made the mistake of asking people on Facebook groups and proceeded to be ROASTED for not knowing solid axle 4wd binds at or near full lock turning. To me it still seems a lil iffy, but I cancelled the appointment for now as that's the only symptom and friends of mine that have had solid axle trucks before me said that's the case as well.

Other than that trucks been great! Hoping to get the bed linex'd soon and gotta figure out something for air compressors. I'm battling between onboard air, or just simply buying a Milwaukee M18 compressor and carrying it in the truck when I need. Onboard seems so nice, but being I'm in Minnesota for work I don't have the tools or garage to work comfortably for the install. Plus its almost never warmer than mid teens out and man would that install suck.

Any input on the air compressor situation is appreciated! And if anyone can confirm my newbie worries of the 4wd is just that, and nothing serious, I'd appreciate that as well 😂.

Lastly! If anyone is going to Hyperfest at VIR in May I'll be there and absolutely planning on doing the off road course! Can't wait! Praying I have it lifted with 37s or 38s by then too!

Finally used the jeep for truck things!

Found this 2014 KTM 300 XCW 6 days edition down in Iowa and even though I have none of my gear with me I had to scoop it up for a decent deal.

When I was down on the state routes in Iowa cruising at 50-65 on the super flat roads I reset the mpg trip and for the 2.5 hours I was on those roads I averaged 28.5 mpg! Absolutely insane.

On the highway cruising at about 75 dropped it down to about 23.9 for the whole trip but man I'm blown away with this truck. Everything about the diesel is perfect imo.

Got some nice thumbs up and bull horns 🤘 from a good few people. Glad they appreciated how H A W T these two look together 😍

Just a lil update, if any one else had grown infuriated by android auto being absurdly picky about the wired connection and was looking for a phone mount, I think I found the one.

CMM offroad has this ball mount that is supposed to be able to be used with tablets and the like. Its pricey at over $100 for a phone mount but if youre like me and this is your daily so you want it to look as clean and OEM as possible while also simply working and not having to constantly adjust it, then its worth it (so far atleast).

it looks pretty decent, when my phone is on there I dont see any arms or anything and when I took it for a drive and hit every pothole I could find the phone didnt budge. Super easy to pop on and off still if you simply tilt the phone when you take it off. Definitely recommend as the connection to Android Auto didnt drop once.

Got my new plates finally!

Butt Stuff + Hot Moms = Happy Noah 😘😂.

Also! My wheels and tires FINALLY came in! Kind a pita cause I had to play phone tag with a tractor trailer driver and my brother had to chase him down so he wouldn't drive off without delivering them.

So everything I ordered is now back home in NY and in 2 weeks I finally head home and I'll have some time to install all the goods before wheeling at hyperfest! Can't wait!
