I've been informed that this is the final Beta version.

Really interested in the Brake Hold and Anchor Mode. ALSO... TurnCAM has been fixed.

    • Adds Tire Fill alert (visual) function
      • Blinks 4 corner lights to show if corresponding tire is below, above or at the target PSI
      • slow blink = below target psi
      • fast blink = above target psi
      • solid on = at target psi
    • Adds Brake Hold
      • Seatbelt on, in drive (if automatic) press brake firmly when stopped for 2 seconds. Brakes will engage and you can take your foot off brake. Releases when accelerator pressed
    • Adds Anchor Mode (Lock all 4 brakes and hold)
      • Press brake firmly and pull hi beam stalk. All 4 brakes will hold indefinitely until accelerator pressed. Works in conjunction with Winch and Cooldown modes as well
    • Adds bed lights or Bed+Reverse lights from remote for Gladiators
      • Press unlock 3 times to turn on bed lights
      • Press unlock 5 times and bed lights and reverse lights
      • turns off when lock pressed or after 30 minute timeout
    • Adds Cooldown mode when engine running
      • Same method to enable, now working while running
      • Note: transmission temperature will read as 229F while this mode is being used
    • Adds more options to Pulse 3rd Brake Light function
      • Adds ramp up faster, ramp down, and random modes
    • Fixed lockers not locking consistently in 2WD and 4Hi
    • Deleted EVIC messages when using TurnCam
      • Will no longer overwrite radio station info in EVIC when in use
    • Modified TurnCam to have 5″/7″ and 8.4″ modes
      • corrects issues with the 7″ radio changing volume, turning off, etc
      • corrects issue with the 5″ radio slight glitch in sound when turning on and off

The bed light mode is awesome on there. Anchor mode also looks really good for winching.

Now I am just dreading unpluging the thing to connect it to my computer, lol

Buy the extension cable. I think it was 29.00 and worth every penny. I just had to go to the dealer. Unmarried, swapped plugs out in 30 seconds. I love the extension.

@Gvsukids

You should unmarry BEFORE, you do any firmware update on the Tazer JL !

You can reach out to Joe @ ZAutomotive and he will tell you this... unless he just recently changed his feeling on this.... For almost 3 years now he always says umarry first..

As for the beta firmware, you load it on the Tazer JL Mini, just like you would load any other firmware for the Tazer JL .
I've used the automatic mode, but found the manual mode doesn't mean I'm using a manual transmission.

I'm guessing this update doesn't do anything with the Tazer Lite? I unplugged and tried to download.. but didn't even give me a download link... and said I had the latest firmware. Guess I'll have to think about upgrading it to a Mini.

I just installed mine last week (with the new beta....must have been published that day). Haven't messed with any of the more advanced features yet (life happens, you know). But have been enjoying the "disable auto stop/start sticky", "black out license lights in reverse", and "bed lights from fob". I've got a quick dealer appt later in the week...i will be removing (thanks extension cable!) before dropping off, but I shouldn't have to "unmarry", right? Since I haven't flashed the cars system in any manner. Or am I mistaken?

@Mojave Dr.

The ZPU utility program you use when working with firmware, will reach out and get the current final release firmware, automatically... NOT so in regard to a/any beta.

To install an availabe beta ...... Go to ZAutomotive's website and download the desired beta to a folder on your laptop... then point the ZPU utility program (Manual mode) to the Beta and let it load the firmware on to the unmarried Tazer JL.
Oh, ok... got it. Going to do this later, thanks so much for the instruction!!

Great!

Do know..
Where there can be issues where the Tazer JL, can be rendered unusable .... bricked... is if the battery on the laptop dies while the firmware update is in process and / or the update is interrupted by prematurely disconnecting the data cable, before the update is fully completed...

Anyway, always be sure the firmware update has fully completed! DO, Use Windows eject device or similar eject device with your Mac. IF the firmware has not completed, Windows device eject or Mac device eject will tell you and caution you to wait til update completes.
Good to know - I didn’t have access to a laptop, so unmarried and brought it in to my desktop and did it that way. Waited for it to be completely downloaded/finished, then took it back out and reinstalled/married and reset settings. All seems to be well!
