So I got the new ball joints installed today. The new Rockjock high steer knuckles are in transit from Cali so hopefully they show up Monday. My biggest challenge is going to be finding the time to swap these axles.

From the looks of your garage it doesn't look like you are new to turning wrenches. Give yourself a weekend and your new axles and lockers will be sitting nice under your Jeep!

What steering are you going with? I'm looking at the high steer knuckles as I want to go iron but wondering how well it would fit with rpm steering and how much bump/lift I'd need.

For no reason other than chance, I ended up going with Rock Jock hardware. I did research it before I pulled the trigger but honestly all the big names are really good. The tie rod and drag link are the Currectlync line and I might order the matching adjustable track bar. But if my Core 4x4 track bar doesn't interfere with the RJ components im not ordering another track bar. Since I already had the RJ drag bar and tie rod I decided to keep all the components matched and order the RJ high steer knuckles. The RJ knuckles are about $100 more than the Reid but I certainly don't think they're any better. As far as lift/bump requirements, I'm not positive. I think I remember reading on the RJ knuckle description they require 2.2 inches of bump but that seems low to me. I could have missed read something though. I have the Mopar lift and Teraflex level kit that together Net around 4" of lift. The 2" mopar is more like 2-1/2" and the TF kit is 1-1/2"

I thought the same thing in terms of bump. I'm wondering if it's 2.2+ the bump you have or if it really does fit well underneath. I'll be interested to see it all together.

When I install everything I'm going to do a clearance check while it's still on jack stands. I'll flex it out and take plenty of pics and post them.

I got the axle swap all completed back in March. I've wheeled a few times since. I did all 3 BOH trails at Windrock in June and had a blast. Broke a couple things but nothing too major. On trail 16 I slammed into something sideways hard enough that it knocked my steering wheel on a 45* angle. Easy enough to correct with a drag link adjustment but I've had steering drift ever since. Not bad but noticeable. I tried tightening the steering box but that didn't help much. I removed every steering component to check all the ball joints. Everything was good. So now I've ordered a new steering box. All I can figure is I stretched something inside the box. I got the new box yesterday so that will be going in as soon as my fluid shows up. As far as the Rock Jock components go, no issues whatsoever. That stuff is rock solid!! As seen with the steering box, I'll break other stock components before any of that stuff. Also no clearance issues and the Core track bar interfaces with the Rock Jock components perfectly. Concerning the bump stops, I didn't add any more to them and they seem to be working fine. I still have the stock + whatever came in the Mopar lift kit, installed.
I'm glad I got the new steering box ordered and delivered before parts become unavailable.

Thanks for the update! Sounds like you had a blast and hope the new steering box works out.

Well upon inspection today, 2 of the four threaded mounting holes are completely stripped out!! ? yes on the new one. The other 2 have only half the threads remaining in the holes. This obviously is a rebuilt unit which wasnt disclosed but thats not a huge issue to me. But to send something that was traded as a core with no threads is ridiculous!! I've contacted the company to see how they want to make this right. Super frustrating!! Depending on how they respond will determine if I go public with the company because we on this forum do alot of business with them. Sorry, just a little frustrated at the moment.

Wow, that sucks. I really hate when companies do things like that. Could have even been a return that someone was cranking down, ruined the box, and then sent it back. Sucks for sure.

Would love to eventually do that. Not sure I could justify the cost though. Hell, I don't even know how much it actually is but I'm sure it's WAY more than the $400 this box has cost me.
