Texas Overlanding Adventures Recommendations

I'm looking for some suggestions for where to do Overlanding adventures in Texas. I'm in the DFW area, but willing to travel. Looking for some fun trails with a few obstacles that my stock Willys can handle on 32's, and camping spots. Any thoughts or ideas?

I’d go out to big bend… after it turns cooler. Also, Merus Adventure over near Amarillo- Palo Duro Canyon.

I've actually been on a Hummer trip down into Palo-Duro. It's a pretty cool place. Lots of giant flies though.
