A full 4x8 sheet of plywood fits just fine in the bed... ask me how i know!
It doesn't hit the fuel filler bump at all.

That's a lot of work to halfway fit some plywood. The Gladiator is a fun/novelty vehicle. Definitely not designed to be a serious pickup.

Anyone that considers measuring and cutting three 2x4s a lot of work probably shouldn’t be in the market to buy plywood.

I don't see why you wouldn't use a 2x8 and a 2x4 instead of three 2x4s? its only .25' difference in height, I can't see it making a noticeable difference. I've been planning on doing that and leaving the 2x8 in place to help keep smaller items from sliding around so much.

Seriously............
I've hauled I don't know how many loads of plywood and have never used any sort of 2"x fillers.
Set the tailgate to the halfway location load and strap the sheets in. If you haul sheetrock or some sort of less structural material you may have to install the 2" x filler........................
