Great advice. Yeah, it was only a matter of time. “Always look on the bright side of life”.
service manager just called me. I’m one of 3 in the shop for what he also thinks is the fuel pump based on my description of what happened. he Has only received bits of info from the met about replacement parts and timing. No more replacing with the same faulty pumps. Just waiting for the new and improved one. Latest info is August. He gave me the same advice as you state but said it all depends.

He also said they may offer to buy the truck back. I laughed and said no way. I custom ordered this truck and I’m not going to give it back. Just want it fixed.

more to come.

I just got this email today.

Good Morning David,

I hope you had a nice weekend.

I am following up as promised to advise you that I have been informed that the recall parts for the 01A are not expected to be released until the third quarter of this year and they are hopeful to have them by August this year.

With that being said you do have the option to wait for the parts to be released if you wish or you do have the approval to move forward with repurchase.

If you could please let me know your next steps so that I know how to best assist you moving forward.

Thank you truly for your time and understanding.

Kind Regards,

Sounds about right and you're in a good spot, all things considered.

Make the best of a craping situation. Be positive and work with Jeep. I can't fault Jeep for a bad Boasch fuel pump. So far, Jeep has made the best of a craping situation and has done right by me.

Just stay positive. Same, I was excited to have a Jeep diesel; no way am I giving it back. The dealer and Stellantis said it's up to us as stakeholders to do what we want. You don't need to accept the buyback, and if you want your Jeep back, you can get it back fixed. My take from my dealings with Steellantis is that they want to make this right as quickly as possible with a permanent fix.

Call the Jeep wave # and tell them you would like a case manager, given what the dealership shared about the HPFP and the recall. They will give you a case #, and you can share the case # with the dealership. That is what I did.

Ok, got a case number.
Lessons learned#1 - I need to talk with my case manager in a day or two but hopefully I can get reimbursed for my over mileage tow from AAA. I should have called Jeep roadside assistance.
Lessons learned #2- just a good to know, I need a truck for work but it doesn’t look like the rental places around here offer pickups for rental. Might be a local thing?

pickup trucks are a specialty rental. Usually associated with premium or higher level. They can be had sometime. Call the airport rental local, they generally have the biggest variety or can work on reserving one for you. You may have to be happy with a car until a truck can be located. But don't be surprised when you get the bill, like said, it's a premium service with premium prices, no different then renting a convertible or minivan. Most rental reimbursements will cover a basic mid-size or full size rental so you will likely have to eat the cost if you want special because i am pretty sure there is no system in place for you to pay the difference.

It may be cheaper to find a used 20 year truck you can get a cheap loan on, buy that then flip it when the jeep is fixed.

They should be able to bring a truck in from another location.

Whelp! Just like everyone here has described. Rattle Noise, power loss, dead. Pretty sure it’s the fuel pump. Left my wife and I on a sketch 2 lane road a mile from the house. Had AAA drop it off to the dealer. hope to find out what’s up this week.

Mainly posting to document with @JeepCares . Not sure what the next steps are.

That's quite the strap down job they did, why didn't they tighten it via the axles.... Gonna want to hit that hook spot in the frame with some Rust-Oleum probably.

I looked at that but those straps on the frame were somewhat loose. He used my recovery hooks to winch it down. That’s why it looks nose down.

I understand the sentiment. If this were a vehicle I drove to work and back I’d not care as much if I hadn’t fascinated about a Jeep truck with a diesel for years. In my opinion it lives up to the hype. I hope there is a real fix on the way.

Wow! A buyback offer on a $50 K Vehicle for a fuel pump that costs a couple hundred dollars...
