Hello my fellow JT peeps… I’m torn between these three tires - anyone familiar with these as to how smooth they ride ?
  • FALKEN 33”
  • BFGoodrich K20 33”
  • Bridgestone Dueler 33”
Here are the pictures in order

what is everyone’s thoughts on the FALKEN? Look nice and beefy but I still want a nice smooth ride

I know the BFG’s and the Bridgestone
Are going to have a nice smooth ride but I’m not familiar with the FALKEN although they look really good and beefy

Thanks in advance for anyones input

I've got KO2s on my 4Runner presently. I really like them. They are durable and wearing well. One of the lighter all terrain tires. I drive about 40 minutes on the interstate twice a day and I have zero complaints of how they handle or about the ride quality. My daughter runs the KO2s (33s) on her JKU and she loves them and I've driven her Jeep quite a bit and again no issues. Another plus here in Florida is they do well on wet, rainy roads.

The Bridgestones you posted are P Metric

The BFG are a known entity, some good some bad

The Falken are a largely unknown entity compared to the others although they are a product of Ohtsu Rubber (Japan) which despite minimal domestic market share, builds a quality product

Of those three I'd personally go with the Falken

I run the KO2s on my 2012 JKUR and love ‘em. They do better on pavement, especially wet compared to the BFG mud terrains. I’ve had the Duelers long ago. I’m sure this newer generation does better than what I experienced back then. I’ve never had the Falkens. I would happily get a new set of KO2s and be safely satisfied. That said, you may find the others more to your liking and specific needs.

Good luck with your choice.

Thank you so much for your time and input I’ve narrowed it down to the K02s and the FALKEN
But I just may go with the BFG’s from your review and they will be a lot cheaper as well

BFG!!!!!!

NOT to say the others are bad, they are good I just think based upon miles and exp that BFG makes a GREAT tire!

P metric= Passenger(application, cars, suv/cuv,etc) tire generally 11-12/32" tread depth
LT = Light truck= Light truck application (exactly what it sounds like) generally 15-17/32" tread depth and minimum Load Range C/ 6 ply rating

I was running a set Bridgestone Dueler A/T tires LT285/70r17’s on my lIfted JK. They wore really well, quiet and fairly smooth. Just put a set of Falken Wildpeak M/T’s (same size) on the Jeep and they feel a little softer on the curves but there is a noticeable difference in that I don’t feel the bumps on the road. I thought the Bridgestone’s road smooth but these are even smoother. Also surprisingly quiet. With the top off and windows down the tire noise can be heard but don’t hear a thing with the top on and windows up. The softness in the curves could be attributable to tire pressure or that they seem to have a soft rubber compound or the fact that they are a mud terrain with a knobbier tread pattern.
Another thought is that the JT Rubicon comes stock with the Falcon Wildpeaks in your choice of All-Terrain or Mud-Terrain.
