The waterproof key holder incorporates a pocket for the RFID chip so you can enter and start the Jeep without the fob.

The key holder is made from "Durable Engineered Plastic ", it has a very small pocket where you place the factory programmed RFID chip, (factory RFID chip is waterproof) taken from your stock fob into it. No, no fob battery is in the mix. Just the metal key, the RFID chip and our plastic key holder.

We offer two variations... Big Loop Tire with RFID pocket and Mini Loop Tire with RFID pocket.

You will be able to just carry the JT/JL factory key attached to the Threedom Waterproof Key Holder with incorporated RFID chip, when you are out at the beach, hunting, kayaking, skydiving and such.

No worry about the pricey factory fob getting wet/damaged... and you don't have to lug that huge factory fob along with you. You could literally, pin/tie the Weatherproof Sport Key to your bathing suit.

It will allow you to lock and unlock and drive the JT/JL.

Using the Threedom Waterproof Sport Key:

You will take the end of the Sport Key and press it firmly against the start button (depressing the start button) while your foot is pressed firmly on the brake pedal and the JT/JL will start up and you can drive it as usual. No warnings/warning lights/alerts from the JT/JL

Your JT/JL will drive as usual. Yes, each time you start the vehicle you will have to once again, press the Waterproof Sport Key against the JT/JL start button while your foot is pressing down firmly on the brake pedal to start the vehicle.

No, you will not be able to activate / use the JT/JL's' security system or when you go to unlock the JT/JL, you will have the vehicle alarm going off/horn honking.

Regarding the assembly of the Threedom Waterproof Sport Key...

The first photo below shows all the pieces (less the factory fob roll pin) laid out, in the direction they should be inserted into the Threedom Waterproof Sport Key Holder.

The RFID chip, will have the text printed on it facing outward with the wider side of the RFID chip being inserted into the keyholder first.

Once you have inserted the RFID chip (RFID chip is a sealed waterproof chip) into the Key holder you will then insert the key.

Secure the key with the factory fob roll pin. The inserted/secured with roll pin, factory fob key, will prevent the RFID chip from sliding out of the keyholder.

For those that are interested in setting up a Threedom Waterproof Sport Key..

Our Waterproof Sport Key incorporates the factory RFID chip, and needs to use a cut key blank that is shaped and sized exactly the same as the factory cut key.

With that said, you would use the cut key you remove from one of your factory fobs or you would buy the appropriate key blank and have that blank cut by a local locksmith.

The pic below shows the shape of the key blank that you would buy. This blank can be found on eBAY and through dealers of key blanks.

Yes, most guys/gals will just remove/use their factory cut key blade but you do have this alternative..
