Over the weekend we rented an RV. A Prime Time PTX 170BHS with a dry weight of 3169 lbs. Add in gear, food, water, kids toys, chairs, grill, etc… probably 3700 lbs or so. My JTR has a manual. It pulled just fine. No issues. The Redarc Tow Pro elite electric brake controller worked well.

Where did you rent from?
If your interested in RV/travel trailer rentals you could check out rvshare.com too. It’s basically a site where people rent out their personal RVs/travel trailers. I used it to rent a TT for the family about a month ago. Great experience.

Did you have a weight distribution hitch? If so, which one?
No, I did not have a WD hitch with the rental. I did not really feel any sway during our trip either. If it were heavier or it was windier out....that would have been worse.

My camper weighs about the same 3,300 + water and gear . I agree it pull it great . I do use a WDH but i measured the drop without it and it was only an inch or two .

I agree it is a plus and helps. If I owned it, I would definitely install one. In fact we are looking to buy a camper and I will be installed a WD hitch then.
