Toyo Open Country M/T - spare tire?

I’ve read all of the spare tire fitment threads and I still don’t get this?

How do some 36.8” tires fit in the spare location end others of the same size do not?

I got talked into Toyo OC m/t on a whim after finding out nitro trails are on a national back order. The Toyos are set to arrive soon and I have no idea if it will fit in the spare tire location.

Any thoughts on this?

My 37” Cooper STT Pro did not fit. Had to have some kind of spare. Toyo R/T underneath.

My Coopers are a smidge bigger than the Toyos Even though the online specs say different.
