One would think by now if they have been on the board for any length of time, anybody that posts a "I am leaving for brand X" thread is gonna get hazed.
I actually thought everyone was pretty tame with the ribbing. Seemed like he took it a bit personal.

I posted on the mustang6g.com forum when I sold mine that I was headed back to the Jeep world and they all wished me luck. That may or may not have been ribbing.

Recommend Apex AutoLYNX. Worth every penny. I feel like the Rubicon setup violates the KISS engineering principle. Don't need a Tazer to keep unlocked or unlock in 2wd either with Apex. I often go 50mph down washboard roads unlocked.

But you get so much more with the Tazer.

I think this is a little different scenario. If you had said you're leaving the Mustang forum because you just bought a Camaro, the reaction would have been a little different. ;)

I am still here, was all set to keep the JT, set off on a trip of about 300 miles each way.

The USB stopped working in Bar Harbor, ME (cold (12F) and alone, with no navigation/hotel.com... yes I do have a Maine Gazetteer) and then the curly, yellow, fiberglass pig tail (that makes up the sound deadening in the muffler/resonator) started to come out of the exhaust in Bangor. It looked like someone tied me to something to keep me in Maine.

Oh, and the dealer who put the second starter in (last week) told me that they replaced a "junk" starter, and that they could not find a maker's name on it. Turns out the original starter installation team (Dec. 6, 2024) said they put a Mopar starter in. So either Mopar is disguising its product (and who could blame them) or the lazy F at the dealer did not want to deal with a jeep warranty.

I got back in touch with the Toyota dealer as soon as I got back.

That's a bummer. Did your phone stop working too?

... I forgot to mention that the heater started dumping cold air into the cab at 12 F. Found out later it is a known issue. How the ?F?

To answer your questions, I have been looking at body on frame trucks. The phone worked but the charging stopped working. So we had a couple of dead phones and no way to charge them. I did end-up buying a universal charger with a couple of USB slots; I plugged that into the 110 outlet and we had power for the phones.

The aim is to go to Colorado this summer and do the alpine passes. The JT was supposed to be the vehicle for that but I am having trouble believing it would make it. I have a small Bean Trailer and we wanted to go off grid for most of the summer. I have just retired and that seemed like a good time to visit the US.

Having been burnt by Jeep and its service model and this particular vehicle's reliability, I am looking at the 4Runner for reliability and to get a bit more room in the cab. The JT is smallish and does not have a lot of storage space, unless you go to a bedcap. Other options have included GMC and Chevy/Ford, but not there yet.

Go for it man Get that Yota . It sounds like you deserve it. Especially after all those little annoying things happened. Glad the motor and transmission held up though.

It was 24 hours old! I'm meaner now =D
Now listen don't be too hard on that Mojave just because it's older that 24hrs. Hate to see jt topped continuously by a Rubicon.
Just remember it's easy to think your tops when there isn't any real competition 😉

Is this the last Jeep you'll ever own?
