I just purchased a 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mojave.
I need to install the trailer brake controller (Electric brake assist for trailer brakes).
Mopar lists a brake assist part number 82215652AB for the 2019-2021 Jeep Gladiator.

HOWEVER, it says on the Mopar web site that it's NOT for the 2022 Gladiator.

Has anyone tried it on their 2022 Gladiator?
OR does anyone know if Mopar plans on putting one out for the 2022 model year?
Thanks
Brian

Does it specifically say it is not for 2022 models, or does it just not show it as compatible for 2022?

There is nothing special about the Mopar trailer brake controller, other than it is designed to fit in the dash hole where the 12 volt power plug is. It does not interface with the truck computers, so there should be no compatibility issues.

I would also suggest going with a Curt controller.

It simply says its for 2019-2021 Gladiator. I should have been clearer.
When I called the Jeep dealer they confirmed it simply said 19-2021 so they didn't know what to say.
So it is possible that it simply hasn't been updated at Mopar as of this time.

Thanks for responding.

Seems to me that if you order the TOW PACKAGE it should come with a brake controller. Just me…

It'll work. So will any of the other third party controllers.
I like Redarc myself but anything from Redarc, Curt, or even the MOPAR unit will work fine.

Sorry for the slow update, I moved over the last couple weeks. Used the Mopar TBC for a 9hr trip hauling a dual axle cargo trailer. While I have a list of serious complaints about the diesel, the TBC performed flawlessly.

So 100% can confirm, the 2021 MOPAR TBC absolutely installs and functions in the 2022 model year Gladiator.

Just another opinion here.
RedArc or Curt probably have better technology over the stock one. The accelerometers in the dash mount redarc and curt probably work the best. The Eco mounts(or dangles) to the 7-way plug and to me seems unsafe to have the weight supported by the plug.

Why would they? They are actually made by one of the major players, not MOPAR themselves. The plug connector is unique to Tekonsha.
Other than the spot they chose to mount the mopar unit and the cheap feeling control/knob, it works flawlessly. It's not dual mode like the higher end Redarc, but then few actually would use the other mode anyway.
Functionally, mine worked just as well as the Redarc and I've had both in my truck and used both in the same truck (uh, but not at the same time, of course)

Just wondering why you think one is better or superior in technology over the other? Just curious.
