Trans America Trail... Kentucky???

I am in North Carolina and have wanted to take the Kentucky Bourbon Trail for some time now... the wife suggested that we could combine the Bourbon tour and the Trans America Tour for a week of fun. Does anyone have any experience with the TAT in Kentucky?

Unless one of the newer spurs enters Kentucky, the TAT (TransAmerica Trail) doesn't cross it. It does cross Tennessee, but toward the south. This is a few years old, but I doubt it has changed that much ...
