So I ordered mine with the HD spindles, as they recommended any tire over a 31" (I think that was the cut-off) going with the HD spindles. These mated to the 2,200 (tonne) kit, should work out perfectly for my build and be stronger than I'll ever need. And man, these things are beefy!
Let me know how those 1 tonne axles work out! It's the same one I'm looking at.

First trip with the suspension. Huge success! These Timbrens are unbelievably fantastic. Its like towing a whole different trailer! So smooth and quiet. Less feedback into the truck over bumps which made the 4 ish hour drive less fatiguing. I approve this message.

On another note, were seeing single digit temps overnight and the diesel heater was really nice to have. Set to 15 celsius inside the tent, single hose running into the bottom heated the whole tent. Best part is everything is dry in the morning and you can change without damp clothes and being chilly. 2 nights, 19hours total run time and maybe 1/3 of the 10 litre tank used. So maybe 2.5-3L. I want to put markings on the tank so I can monitor usage. Overall I'm impressed and happy. Might add a fresh air intake hose to the heater as I get a slight smell of diesel fumes when my cargo door is closed. Easy add on.

Mocking up a kitchen/storage area. Previously used for 2 5gal water jugs and 5gal grey water jug. Under the bottom shelf will be a designated 12gal rv fresh water tank. Top shelf with 1” lip for lighter items/seasonings/soups. Bottom shelf for bigger and heavier items with slide out bin. Still debating seeing if 3 shelves could work. Using baltic birch 1/2” and 3/4” aluminum c-channel to brace it all.

Bottom aluminum braces are in. Final varnish tonight and hopefully a rough install tomorrow. Still waiting for my 12gal fresh water tank before I do a final install. Also added 1/4” backer to finish the look. Keeping it natural wood.

Rhino Rack batwing compact installed. Its perfect for this size of trailer. Im impressed with its ease of setup and pack up. Tent flipped to the driver side as the pantry/living/camping is on the passenger side.

Great build, definitely worth the effort based on what these companies want for a turnkey trailer

Way to much is what I'm thinking
As far as manufacturers go. I feel I can build one for half the cost. I have an appointment with an engineer on the 24th to go over some designs. My AutoCAD/Solid works is not as good as I'd like. Easier to pay someone to design it and then build it myself. Get a full bill of materials too.

That's friggin awesome. I love those 270 awnings. I can't wait to get mine together. I've been super busy with house projects/storm repairs, so I haven't had much time at all to work on mine. I got my hot water heater the other day, and am super stoked to get it installed. I might have to start my own build thread so I don't hijack anyone else's.

Yours is looking awesome, and I can't wait to see it progress.

Just waiting for my 12gal fresh water tank to arrive monday. Once I get that in I can install my pantry for the food.
On another note, we looked into selling it last week but decided on the upgrades instead. Off Grid trailers wants 29k plus and a NOBO is 24-26k. Ouch! And i will still need to add upgrades.

I soooo wanted an Off Grid Trailer! That price is the whole reason I want to design my own. Besides their options are limited. IMO stove to small, only offer a Dometic fridge....no freezer. The cooking set up again my opinion isn't very user friendly. The batteries are lead acid. Ewww way better options nowadays. Yeah pricier but....it's my build. Can't say that it won't mimick certain aspects.

A small tip I can give on the water tank installation is to make sure it has a way for air to vent in the compartment and under/ sides of water tank due to condensation. Condensation and vibration can get though sealing of wood or metal that can lead to rot or corrosion. The condensation part I can say I know from experience in my Scamp T.T. of over 10 years. 😉

So a closable vent in wall(???) My Scamp is "vented" to the floor at edge of stove/sink cabinet. In really cold weather I keep a desk cube heater in the compartment with T-stat.
I didn't notice a over flow line for the water tank but it's a good thing to have. :like:

All considered. Its nit right up against any wall although it might look like that in the pictures. Lots of air movement other than the bottom of the tank. As for overall airflow, the front has two vents and the rear shares those vents. I also keep and maintain my condensation bucket in the rear. Hopefully with being mostly steel and marine grade carpet, mold will be a minimal or non existent issue. Thanks!

New updates for winter as I modify and make changes after our first season with the build. We found storage to be a small problem but an easy solution to solve. Ordered the camco hitch basket which im going to modify to fit on the front hitch portion of the trailer. Only needs to hold a couple small totes, maybe 40-50lbs of gear.
Second is relocating the spare tire to the rear swing out door. We did scrub the low mounted spare once last year on 4lo trail. Found the rugged ridge TJ door setup would work well. Some minor door reinforcements will be needed but it should work and clear the trailer/propane tank.
Should arrive this week and I will be updating photos of the food storage and water tank.

Added the front cargo basket today. Super simple install with some slight modification. Turned out great. Fired up the heater today and put in some winter PS additive. Jerry cans were painted black with diesel decals as well.
