Hey has any one figured out a brilliant place to mount a two, way radio? Thinking maybe under the drivers seat?🍻

I would think CB radio. I think VHF is limited to boats and water.

On back of rear seat. Fold down for service. Otherwise out if the way.

Have my rig there. Works perfect.

Get a remote head radio then put the radio guts under the front or rear seat and the control head on a RAM swivel mount sticking out of the front of the center console. I did this with two control heads and the RAM extension and control heads come off in seconds and can store in the center console for theft prevention.

There are some great threads on here and jlwranglerforums about mounting various radios and mics. Small faceplates can mount right in front of the shifter, or radios that have controls on the mic, you can mount the radio guts under seat or even behind the glovebox.

Must be able to buy a mic extension cable I assume
Yes. There are fellow hams that sell those cables on ebay for a very reasonable price and work great.

I ran my mic up under the dash and then under the carpet along the doors. Worked very well.

Are you in a club by chance? I would ask what they're running, I agree that CB is dying out and I no longer run it in my rig. But I've never even heard of VHF and just had to look it up, all of the clubs I've spoken to this year are all switching to GMRS.

Personally I use a handheld now, used to have a mounted one down in the center console that worked great. Just drilled a hole in the bottom and ran the wires under the carpet. When I needed it I would just pull the mic out and put it in the cupholder, the lid still closes with that sized cord.

That's two control heads in the picture. One control head is half the size and with the swivel mount you can raise or lower it or move it to either side. Its the only solution I've found that keeps the radio knobs within easy reach and you can remove and store it fast.

Ya I think that would drive me nuts, not enough room already

Here you go.
GMRS radio base mounted to underside of front seat. Faceplate mounted above rear view mirror.

Here’s mine. Main radio under drivers seat. Using 67 designs mounting system. That’s a VHF/UHF ham radio. It does all kinds of things. ;) I have a Ham license.
