You’re getting worked up for nothing either way - this is just one of many cargo cover options that will be available, and it is obviously made for convenience over security. It’ll still keep the sun, snow, and rain off your stuff while you’re out and about, but everyone know if you want security you need to make a bed cover out of PLYWOOD.

That’s what I did with my JK and it never got broken in to in 4 years...
But that one looked cool, had promise and almost would have kept honest people honest..... And wasn't the fabric provided by bestop?

Now I'll have to use piano hinges, plywood and paint it black. =(

I've always gone with "balls" "midnight" or "what the shit, who's waking me up for watch/some made up emergency?"
haha. the place I'm at now has a color coded chart that shows whether or not to wake people up at night.

Quick thought, im actually thinking about a sport Max tow. Basically he states the Rubi has Dana 44 with "wider" axles. So basically the max tow package on the sport gives you the 4.10 gearing and wider Dana 44's just like the Rubi comes with? Im in for that on a base sport and adding the infotainment 8.4 after the fact to save a lot of $$$. Lol

I'm waiting for a hard three piece cover, or roller like Retrax.

A tablet and a mount connected via bluetooth or aux is always better than any stock infotainment system anyway.

I disagree. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto have changed the game.
Android auto just lets you use a limited amount of apps. You mount a nice tablet and you can do a lot more. I just did this recently, i can run google maps and waze side by side in multiwindow for the best routes with pandora playing on my Galaxy Tab S4, I purchased an international version so I could use it with my spare phone line so it has its owm data and can text and call. I put a mount in my car and my work vehicle and take the tablet with me. I have been installing aftermarket stereos in cars since I was a kid but now with more and more manufacturers including heat, ac and other vehicle function into the stereo system now a tablet is the way to go if you dont want to be limited by android auto.

There will be a way to lock those hinges from the bottom. If it doesn’t come that way, the aftermarket will find a solution. If it’s not available by the time my Punk’n Glad shows up I’ll make my own.

I've been thinking the same. There will be tons of aftermarket parts to turn it into "looking" like a Rubi if you really want that. Now, if you want it to off-road "like" a Rubi then you might as well just get the Rubicon. By the way, you can always upgrade to the 7" Uconnect screen and still get Carplay/Android Auto with a fairly nice screen setup.

By the time you pay for upgrading gears (because the stock gears suck with 35 or bigger tires), add lockers, and all the other trinkets, it gets expensive. In the resale world, you will always get your money back out of a rubi that you paid to upgrade from a sport to rubi

Max tow from factory= Rubi 4.10 GR and Rubi wider Dana 44's.
Mopar Lift with 35" tires seems like that would be plenty for me and I wouldnt be anywhere near a Rubi (with 35") price. (Not that pricing is out)[/QUOTE]

Uh oh, watch at 8:07 the feature for thieves. He just flips the tonneau cover open to" weekend stealer position ". I bet you can just flip it open with the tailgate shut.

He says" you can just fold it right away without any latches. " how STUPID. if there was a quick latch I'm interested. Now you don't even need a knife to steal my truckbed items with the tailgate locked.

Just flip, unlatch and roll up my tonneau cover before you rip me off.

LMAO!
P. S. I truly hope I'm just getting worked up for nothing, but the Lite bright video showed this as well.
Yeah, there are no locks on the factory tonneau cover. When it is closed fully you cannot access the straps to unlatch it unless the tailgate is unlocked. If it is in weekend warrior position you can access the straps to unlock the tonneau cover without opening the tailgate.

It is a soft top tonneau cover...... noting is safe. Hell if they want something inside your vehicle, the windows won't even keep them out when hit with a Louisville Slugger!.....Welcome to the first day of baseball...Go Brewers!

But it appears you can just flip the weekend warrior open, even if the tailgate is closed.
