I mean the wrap, unfortunately. I'm debating doing a similar middle-of-tailgate wrap in matte black and I like the black on red look from the stock logo that he replicated there. Black on black will just blend in Im afraid.

That’s why I was waiting for the red Hauk logo to come out (which it finally has). I have the matte black tailgate wrap (pics above) and I too was afraid the emblem wouldn’t “pop” enough if it was black on black. I plan to do something similar so it’s like you said. His emblem is my favorite so far!

Nice Job - looks great!

I am planning to wrap the tail gate and hood the same way. I got body matched fenders and am thinking about wrapping them eventually too. I think I want to wrap the grill, but leave the inner sides of the grill vents and inner walls of the head lights body color.

Were there holes behind the JEEP badging? Could you have just added the matte wrap and not put the JEEP badging back on without any issue?

If you do something with it, do you mind posting pictures? Until I saw this thread, I was pretty much resigned about putting the stock red on black jeep logo back on.

Yes there are two small holes. The does hide them pretty well but for mine it was noticeable. The wrap does get an indentation where it covers the holes so you’ll notice it.

I will say that if you remove the access plate on the tailgate to access the backup camera you could probably get your arm in there to apply some silicone, or something similar. Just to get something on the backside of the holes after you’ve put the wrap on so it’s a firmer surface. I don’t know for sure, it’s just a thought!

The letters were computer cut, I originally planned on using grey vinyl to match the original Jeep letters but changed to black.. vinyl I used in book behind the G

Got mine done a week or two ago. I used the 3M 2080 Matte - Deep Black on the tailgate and hood. Looks great.

Did you remove the "Jeep" tail gate badge b4 laying the matte black? If so can you recycle the Jeep badge or did you install new?

I did not install mine myself, but my installer was able to reuse the JEEP badge on my tail gate.

This is the only accent piece I have so far and can I say... wrapping the curve on the back corner of the cab is TOUGH. I might do a piece on the hood after some other examples here.
