Afternoon everyone it appears I have some extra dough to burn and I was considering a winch. Although I know many consider Warn to be overpriced I'm still leaning in that direction. With that being said, should I go with the zeon 10s or 12s. I want to mount it on my stock steel winch capable bumper. I know nothing of this so any recommendations will help.

I went with a 12K winch specifically because in realistic terms, the JT is a big heavy truck. My JTR is 1400 lbs heavier than my old Ranger, and 1700 more than my YJ!!! 20% more capacity is that much more margin, for a few pounds more winch (and more $$$).

10K is plenty.

I was going to go for a vr evo 10s myself, but got a great deal on a zeon 12s instead. Now I just have to get a winch plate.

You can't have too much winch, that said I have run a Ramsey 9500 on my F250 for 15 years and it has always handled every thing I tried to do. I don't think a 10 would fail you on a JT.

Like with most anything else, the biggest you can afford.

You just never know what situation you'll end up in and may need the extra capacity.
