Water protections for seats? Rustoleum Neverwet?

My JK is five years old and the leather is in bad shape. I've run it hard with the doors off most the time. Rain and sun beat on the seats. I never did much to protect them.

I'd like to take a bit better care of my JT seats. I was considering something like Rustoleum's Neverwet product. Does anyone have experience using this or another product to protect your seats from rain?
