Does anyone have experience wiring for Weboost in a 2020 Gladiator? Appears the interior is too small to avoid the two antennae’s from creating a closed loop cancelling circuit.

I think member @Shaun from The Story Till Now on YT has one, and I believe he was less than impressed with the results.

He‘s a BC-boy as well, BTW.

Thanks & greatly appreciated. Couldn't find the episode so if you have it handy, that would be appreciated.

Although I live in BC, I'm an American Boy with a home in AZ as well. Best of both worlds, eh?

He didn't do a review that I can recall. Someone asked about the antenna in the comments section and he said something along the lines of not being impressed with the product. Hopefully he is still around here and will check in and elaborate.

Nice! AZ is a place I'd like to visit one day. I've heard great things about Phoenix, and Sedona looks to be amazing from a scenery perspective. My mom had a place in Palm Desert, CA that she just sold due to this whole COVID thing and inability to travel easily. Too bad for me, as I had planned to drive my Jeep down the next time I visited so I could explore around Joshua Tree NP and I wanted to hit those parts of AZ on my way home, as well as Las Vegas and Moab. I've driven the PCH a number of times on the way down the CA, but always took the I5 home. A loop back through AZ, NV, UT, and ID had always been one of the "next time" trips.

Summers and winters in Whistler and the "shoulder seasons" (spring & fall) in Sedona. Give us a shout if you visit either. Again, thanks for the help.

Truly the best of both worlds indeed! I may take you up on that. At the very least, I'll buy the first round at the Handlebar.

Got the big antenna and mounted it up top outside. Booster went under the seat, and the small antenna that emits the boosted signal to your phone I velcroed next to the rear view mirror as my phone mount is next to it.

I have a WeBoost Reach and it's awesome, it definitely works. Anyone who says it doesn't work either:

1) had way too high of expectations
2) wired and placed pieces incorrectly to worsen the signal
3) don't fully understand how the device works

to each their own though, but I bought this because we're in AZ and go out often and use OnX Offroad on a Samsung tablet with wifi hotspot.

Thanks Shivin,
COMPLETELY agree the Weboost has been a game changer during our drives from Whistler to Sedona. I am running the antennae through the cab window and it sits on the bed rail behind the cab. I'm thinking to hang it upside down below the rooftop tent.

Sic Gladiator BTW..... I just sent you an Instagram request.

Hi Kenobi,
Saw your good looking rig at the expo. Is the weboost good when moving down the road? My engineer buddy tells me the cellular handoff protocols and response time are optimized for the walking cell phone user. Not 55mph. He thinks noise will be a problem.
How high up did you get your antenna?
Best, D

I'm able to max out my signal while my wife would be half bars sitting next to me. Usually I also just wifi Hotspot and connect all devices to it. I also used a giant antenna that truckers and RVs use, mounted it on the rail of my RTT so it juts out about a foot higher than the roofline.

Thanks Shivin, I am typing this from Moab heading to Sedona. What is the antenna you bought? I have a rooftop tent mounted on the rack so trying to optimize the space.

Where did you guys feed the antenna into the cab at? I wish I could get my rig up on a rack but I don't have access to one.

Ran mine down the bed rail on the rack into a hex shaped hole, drops down between cab and bed, then back up through a plug I popped out. Mounted the control box under the rear seat passenger side in the little plastic cubby, fit nicely. Signal unit came up through the pillars and out to just behind/above my head. Here are some shots:

I've been meaning to re-run it under the carpet and into my center console, WeBoost (when asked directly on the phone, unlike what the instructions say) suggest getting it as close as possible to where the phone is going to be, ignoring the 18" or whatever is suggested in the instructions. Post install I started using more and more hands free via CarPlay so my phone just sits in the slot between the center cupholder.

I was having trouble finding access for wire from rack through rear of cab. So here are some pics how I routed it underneath and along that gap of the hard top to that rubber section right where door closes. Go under rubber thing. Then into inside and connect everything and place behind seat. Get some zip ties and cable holders with sticky stuff to secure. Place enough tension on cable so it doesn’t slip out of gap.
