Rare blizzard like conditions in Albuquerque so I thought I'd have a little fun going to work taking the back way. There was a Prius stuck on the right lane so I started going in the left lane where the drifts were a little deeper. About 10 degrees out with at least 30 mph winds. There was nowhere to winch onto that wouldn't take me into deeper snow. Took 20 minutes of rocking back and forth and turning front wheels back and forth before I was finally able to back out. The front wheels were totally buried. Thought I was screwed. No way I was paying $250 to a tow truck on Sunday to come get me out.

Well time to justify, a 4.5" lift, 40" tires , and regearing, then again that just means you will get stuck in a far worse place and the tow will be more! Hey you didn't get stuck if ya were not towed!.....Jack

Nice job! There is an old conversation in our off road club that always comes up on snow runs:
"I got stuck."
"Did you get free without using your winch, or without a tug from another rig?"
"Yes. Eventually."
"Then you were not stuck!"

A set of tire chains would've solved the problem, too.

They're illegal in a lot of places on city owned streets and highways/interstates.
