What’s the difference between premium soft top and regular?

Is the color/shade any different? Material? Extra functionality of how it folds down?

I head in a video that premium is more like “canvas”. What does that mean? What would help me is comparison to the stock soft top on a JK. is the stock soft top on a JK equivalent to the regular or premium? Anybody know?

Here is a nice picture just to make it interesting.

Just the material used. The premium is a softer fabric.

Yea what he said, + thicker, nicer to the touch, and better sound deadening - so they say ! Probably gonna "hold up" better in the long run, but not as well as the 3 piece "freedom" hardtop ! So they say ! :lipssealed:  ;)

Thanks. Is it something you can compare at the dealership today on a JL? Same two options?

Yeah, or on the JK. Basically, the normal top kinda feels like heavy duty Carhart work pants...while the Premium material is like Yoga pants.

On the JL the mechanism is slightly different also. I believe the standard has a spring and the premium has a gas strut.

I just wished they folded all the way back to the bed not just stopping at the end of the roof.
I'm thinking the aftermarket will come up with your alternative :fingerscrossed:

I have a twill soft top and it's definitely not softer. Thicker and more durable, yes. But not soft and not easier to manipulate.

Personally I like the look for the standard soft tip better and find it just as quiet as the hard top.

Just a question.. if you keep the regular soft top on could I keep the truck outside in rain and it not leak or am I better keeping her in a carport. I guess I'm asking how water resistant the soft top is

Rain should not be an issue. Especially sitting still. Soft top is very water resistant.
