What’s Your Highest MPG Score?

I took a trip to the Adirondacks over the 4th of July weekend. It was the first real road trip I did in the gladiator. I have a stock Overland and the trip was around 5-6 hours.

On the way back to WNY, my average MPG had crept up so high I wanted to see how high I could get it. So I started really babying the throttle and coasting down all those nice hills

My best average MPG score so far has been 27MPG!! I only hit it for a minute before a red light broke my coasting streak. But I was very impressed.

Other info:
- 10k miles on truck
- 2 adult passengers (myself included) probably weighing about 350lbs total.
- probably 50-100 lbs of luggage
- AC was set to auto and it was on the entire time
- stock gladiator overland with the highway tires and auto transmission.

And no, I didn’t reset the average MPG at all to snap this pic. Probably haven’t reset it in over 3,000 miles.

What’s YOUR best average MPG? Anyone get it to max out at 30+?

Im sitting at about ~16.0 mpg with the 33" wheels I got and steel bumpers, with a 2" lift.

This thread hits near and dear to me since we are mid trip to the Jeep Jamboree in Silver Valley (Idaho).

We just completed leg 1 from Henderson, NV to Priest Lake, ID., 1,147 miles (16.5 hours) and my Avg MPG is 19.5.

Stock JT Rubicon, freeway speeds varied from 65 to 70 to 80 and I typically go 5 over. I’d guess 4 people and luggage/gear to be about 625ish pounds. ODO is now at 4,511.

26.4 MPG driving for a trip around 120 miles I average around 23 MPG normal driving in last 8000 or so miles. OEM tires Max-Tow with aftermarket bumper winch probably 750-900 lbs crap including my old fax a$$
Added a picture from few weeks back. Something I have found out is my odometer reading higher than actual speed by 1 mph with tire pressure at 40 psi. So actually I'm getting slightly better than what dash reads.

Before I put the Lift And 35's on I was getting close to 23 Mpg around town. Only had it stock for 3 days, after lift and 35's front bumper and winch I get around 19 mpg. Haven't really had it on any long trips other than a trip to Virginia to pick up Rubi Rails right after I put the lift and tires on and I got 21 MPGs on that trip.

I haven't gotten anywhere near those numbers but I also drive with the soft top back almost exclusively, and a lot of stop and go near the house which I'm sure don't help much. It would be nice if the top would drop all the way back instead of just the sun rider position

Base Sport Max Tow 4:10 gears, 35" tires. 18.5 city all day long. 22 HWY

I had just under 29 mpg on a one way 140 mile trip in the Overland with stock wheels tires. Did the same trip a few weeks later on the Rubicon wheels and tires...dropped to just over 26 mpg. Tolerable I suppose...but if I plan on taking a longer raod trip, I will be switching out to the Overland wheels and tires...at least that is my plan when I go to Yellowstone in September.

Sport S Max Tow / Cruising about 60 MPH for 130 miles / Winding road through mountains / 24 mpg

24.3 for a 500 mile round trip. That was 33s and fully loaded bed for 4 adults @ 70-73 mph

I was able to hold 20mpg during 2,100 mile round trip between SC and TX. I’m in stock Rubicon. Pretty impressed with some of the other numbers in this thread. Wonder if those little air dams in front of tires help the Overland that much more than rubicon.

Highest was around 16.5, but average is around 15 MPG.

I haven't seen a point over 16.3 yet on stock tires and still have my air dams. Perhaps removing them is the move.
