Joined a Gladiator Facebook group. People are asking questions and instead of answers are just getting either dismissive or smart a$$ remarks trying to be funny. At least here when a tired question gets ask, it either gets answered or at least someone points out that the archives have the answer.

Facebook is the beginning of the end ... It is a horrible place ... People can point out good things about it but in general, it is a cesspool ...

I avoid it like the plague ...

Easy to manipulate information, without consequence, is the biggest danger of those platforms. Then add the mindless hoards who accept, without question whatever they read and carry it on as fact. So very dangerous...
Social media- invented by enemies of all lol

Honestly I give a lot of smart ass answers on facebook.. As pointed out above there is only so many "whats the biggest tire that will fit with no lift" questions that can be asked. When I see a question that requires more then scrolling down a few posts to see the exact same question I will answer it honestly. But "40's will fit with minor trimming" has become my go to answer for tire questions regardless of the rig.

I had the same experience in the Mustang world. I'm a member of a Vintage Mustang forum where everyone is great; genuinely helpful cheerful. So I tried the Vintage Mustang Facebook page. Whoa, what a bunch of Delta Bravos! Non-stop ignorant people posting incorrect information. And that's when they weren't insulting someone. Yeah, I clicked the "Unfollow" button real quick.

The difference is a good forum will have good moderators. If anyone tries to be a Delta Bravo, they get shut down or even outright banned very quickly. No such moderators on Facebook. Not surprisingly, all the Delta Bravos converge there.

Agreed, this forum is awesome. It's the only "social media" I participate in and I still check it a bajillion times a day. Couldn't imagine how much more time if waste on other outlets. In all people are very knowledgeable and experienced on here, so it's a great resource to figure out what's next for your JT! The member marketplace is great too, though I know people love facebook marketplace

Nice, which one? I used to have a '68 and hope to have another one day. Would love to lurk around on a forum of helpful Vintage Mustang owners. :like:

"Human beings can't have nice things."

Government regulation of social media platforms is inevitable (the UK is already working this). Open internet channels and the World Wide Web as we know it will be a thing of the past. Private networking is the future with Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR and VR) via our phones. The digital needs brought about by COVID-19 have certainly accelerated the already turbocharged moving target.

Yeah, sign up and hang out.

My friend Kelly just shared some pictures which I think you will like. She gave me a ride in her fastback a few years ago after I helped her adjust the valves. Her and her car have been featured in multiple magazines and the Wall Street Journal. She's amazing!

Surprisingly we only have 3 Mods and I see very little of them compared to some other forums I have been on that is pretty darn amazing. I say we are given some some good latitude but almost everyone is well behaved. BZ to the whole crew here!
