Cutting through Green Swamp and Richloam WMAs this afternoon and noticed a few of these little buggers who didn't quite make it across the road and thought they were Eastern garter snakes 'til I came across a live one.
I believe it's an Eastern Ribbon Snake. If memory serves me the Southern Ribbon Snakes are a lighter brown color.
The second one I didn't catch, (not that I haven't in the past,) but will still take credit for it. A beautiful example of a Dusky Pygmy Rattlesnake.
No snakes were harmed in the making of this post.
