Its almost exactly the same as the JK. Maybe an extra bolt or two a little less awkward.

Maybe its just me....I have thought all my Jeeps were super simple in terms of taking the top off.
You can't take a JK hard top off, lifting with one hand and walking away to set it down.

To be fair, even though you may be able to.....I wouldn't do that with my JT top either.

Its easy...I walked right off the tailgate with it. Just need a step.
Yeah until you miss step or slip or etc. I have seen more than one post where guy has dropped his top and scraped his paint or worse.

More power to ya, I just wouldn't risk it!

I agree that there are safer and better ways...just that JT vs JK tops are not near the same.

LOL, to me they are though. I never tried to lift them. I drop my hoist and pull off. Same amount of time and effort for me both ways.

Rock hard down-angled sliders. Did not encounter the horror stories about red locktite and snapped bolts. Bolts were stiff but I was able to remove them with my 18” socket wrench. You will need to drill out the holes - plan on it.

I removed my dealer sticker with a hair dryer, and put on this Gladiator decal. It's small but looks much better. Every truck I've bought in the past had the truck name on the tailgate except for the Gladiator.

Then I installed my train coupler hitch cover! Everyone who doesn't know anything about trains always asks me "what kind of hitch is that?"

JT top is 47 pounds. Its really light. Probably half the weight of a JK and not near as lopsided on weight.

I used 2 Rubbermaid Roughneck 3 gallon black storage totes that I ordered from here:

https://www.doitbest.com/shop/stora...roughneck-3-gal-black-storage-tote?SKU=608254

You can go larger, but I wanted them small enough that I can easily move them if I was going to have rear seat passengers. Plus, they are just to hold tie-downs and an air compressor, etc. My main objective was creating a "flat floor", not so much the extra storage (although there is also space next to the totes on the floor that you could put stuff).

The plywood I cut down to 2' x4' and then made a small cutout on the front edge so I can still use the rear cupholders as I often throw a spray can or spray sanitizer in them. So, I didn't want to block the holders.

I did later add two small lengths of a 2"x3" (maybe 12" long each) that I screwed to the underside of the platform where it sits at the Rubbermaid totes (so the boards rest on the tote lids). I realized that the rear OEM storage box lid goes up at an angle, so the platform would rock some. So I attached the pieces of 2"x3" to stop the rock. I originally just put two rolled up towels on top of the totes that did the same thing -if you don't want to bother with the 2"x3" boards. Its easy to see what I mean about the rocking the first time you trial fit the plywood.
Thanks for the details. I'm doing this, rather than taking out the seats. More versatile!
