I don’t know where you are…but I’m so jealous of ya’ll out west.😉

Ya’ll post videos and it looks like ya’ll have an endless amount of trails at your fingertips. Is that the case? Or does your state have strict regulations?

Over here on the East Coast (1 hour west of Philf-a-delphia🤣)….. I’d travel about 1.5-2 hours one way to get to the offroad parks (pay to play) up north. There’s really no open trails around here at all (that’s legal to be there). There’s lots of State Game Lands, but those roads are just that……roads and some of them are closed most of the season.

You guys are lucky to have such a vast playground…..😉

I have to leave the area, the state for sure, to do anything off-road.

I’m in SoCal (menifee)
We’ve got dirt roads in the hills and everywhere close by that go up to about 3 to 4 rating. I have some good hills with trails 1/4 mile from my house. I’m 1.5hrs from Big Bear which has three BOH trails and lots of other really challenging trails. King of the Hammers and Ocotillo Wells (Borrego Springs) are 1.5 hrs also. One of the good things about living here in SoCal but you have to put up with the snowflake laws.

I hate you…… 😂 Just kidding of course…

If we had trails ‘everywhere’ around here…I’d probably get back into it (offroading) again.

More trails than roads?
But here - every other mile road is considered a "farm to market" road so is hard surfaced.
Where possible, roads are laid out in a square grid with a section of land in the middle. Roads are N/S or E/W about a mile apart. Every-other one is hard surfaced in much of the state
Of course we've got some really hilly areas where that's just not possible, quite a bit of the state, actually, but where it is possible, that's the layout.
You walk around a section, you walk 4 miles.

I’m admittedly spoiled. Without the fact that I need to be attentive to my family, who could give a shit, I could go on very day. Look on the bright side. Most don’t need to gut everything underneath the frame every 6 minutes. I’ve f’d this thing up. :)

I do miss the close public trails. Everything around here is private flat land unless you wish to get in trouble with border patrol in their border buffer zone. All good places for off-roading are 5+ hours away.

I totally understand….. In my younger years, we had a built YJ that we played pretty hard with. It was street legal yet we towed it around for a while. We had protection where needed but there was always something that needed lubed, tweaked, fixed, cleaned, etc. As we got older……you just can’t do that stuff anymore without being sore-as-hell for a week afterwards. 😁

In my case - it's a matter of being unable to do it AT ALL.
I can no longer lay under a vehicle and work on it without getting SICK and remaining sick for the rest of the day. I mean headache and a sick headach/nausea feeling.
I can't even write my name. I tried to fill out a form for a chance to win a TV (ours are working, but getting older) and there was no way to read the phone number I tried to write.
My last hope is an electrode implant and battery pack.
For the sickness working under a vehicle? There is ZERO fix, no hope, none at all.
I'm only 68 and thankfully it's not a matter of having to work to make money - I'd be on disability.
It's driving me crazier than usual because I'm used to doing literally EVERYTHIING - there wasn't anything I'd not do myself - from a total and complete vehicle restoration bumper to bumper, tire to roof, to electrical, plumbing, roofing, landscaping. I hired no one for anything unless the scope was just too large or the timeframe too short (I'm good, but not FAST)
If this is what the future holds - maybe I stop asking to live a long life. It sucks.
i can't even go out and swap out control arms in my JT without getting sick for the day.

Went to Lowe's and defied everyone that said I couldn't put plywood in my bobbed Gladiator bed, I just had them bob the plywood 😂🤣

Wood is for the rear seat delete and a door cart.
