Not a fan of that little window either. I think it’s useless, and ugly as sin.

A retracting window into the body coupled with a removeable top that would require fairly precise alignment every time the top is removed/installed would be a difficult setup to design, construct and ensure durability. I don't mind the size, I just wish it were power operated. Someone on here built a power assembly using a linear operator...I need to find that thread and see if I can clean his design up a bit.

Am I the only one who still has yet to even open the sliding back glass?

And I thought the whole point of buying a Gladiator is that it has a removable top...

Recent Tacomas (say 2017+) have a power sliding window - maybe a kit could be sourced from that? Next was thinking where the bolted on track would go on the hard top

Been brought up here before.

I am not sure they have they have the cab space to pull it off. And a retracting window that slides into a removable top is going to be a nightmare for warranty as people don't get it quite lined up properly and it shatters.

Could it have been done? Yes technically it could be done. But practically and economically IDK.

K5 Blazer/Jimmy had a removable fiberglass hardtop with retractable rear window - into the drop down tailgate.

That's actually a brilliant idea.

Chevy did it in the Avalanche. But in a convertible truck its even more useful for the reasons you described.

The only reasons not to do it, but they are significant reasons are cost, weight, and complexity.

No, you're not. I likely will never open it.

I would have been content with just a solid back window.

Yeah so did Broncos, Wagoneers, Travelalls, it's actually pretty common, and Jeep's even done it.

Never opened the slider and probably never will.

If the window were motorized, would you open it?
