What size is the Alpine Sub?

Yeah the factory sub could use an upgrade

It also has 4 voice coils, so plan an amp with your sub swap as you won't find an aftermarket 4 voice coil sub and you won't get enough power out of using 1 or 2 of the factory channels.

I was thinking of putting the Rockford 5 channel amp in replace the speakers and maybe replacing the sub with a shallow Rockford sub in the factory enclosure if possible...

Every subwoofer takes a certain sized enclosure matched to the sub.

Yes, I know that. Rockford makes shallow mount subs that do not use much air space...
