I think they’ll find out pretty quickly that they’re extremely overpriced.

Then again…JEEP.

I wouldn’t let a passenger ride without a helmet if I had that. LOL at 1/2” foam rubber padding

I wonder if any crash testing was done on this. 1/2 foam between 18 gauge steel and your head doesn’t sound very forgiving. That would be a hard pass from me.

I know it says " your Headrest Safe locks in place so only you can remove it." there are only vague pictures of the hardware and no information on "how" it stays securely in place. I'm thinking that right after it gets ripped out of your seat you are now replacing your valuables and your seat.

There would be no money left to put in it! People act like you can throw a price out and everyone will jump on it!

Expensive, doesn't seem to safe in an impact, and how much storage do we need!? Overloader status for sure. As someone who loves to camp and hit the trails some of this stuff is getting ridiculous

I have a Sawzall that'll cut right through those headrest bars, but I guess the engineers are relying on thieves not knowing there's a safe there at all. Even if these were half the price they're asking, there's still better options out there. I do miss the under seat safes I bought for my 2015 JKU. I wish Jeep would have left room under the JLs for a similar setup.

I wondered the same.
The spec weight is 13lbs (shipping weight) for a pair. If one of these is 5 or 6lbs (empty) that could be quite a deadly projectile in a head-on collision.

Can't you just lift the headrest up and out, and then work on the "safe" later?

As stated in the video you need to get into the safe to remove the head rest . It has one fastener on the RH post that prevents theft of the headrest .

Ah! Ok. I can't see the video. That helps.
