LOL That's funny. Love all of the hate over something people have gotten so very wrong, assuming, and taking "the internet" BS as fact.
People who know nothing of engines keep spouting that sort of thing - oil PRESSURE doesn't protect the followers and cam lobes. In fact, it's the oil film.
If you are that concerned, never ever shut your engine off! All of that oil drains down,, things dry up and you'll ruin the engine!

Man, people wonder why I take breaks - all of the crap, so few facts.
People who have no real engine experiences telling everyone else all about it.

Love it! Keep it coming. I'm really amused at the total lack of understanding.
Have people noticed how the oil pressure drops when the transmission shifts into a higher gear? can we get button to turn this off too?

I don't like how my battery voltage goes up when i drive too. What if my battery explodes? good thing i have a battery backup. How far can you go with just that little battery?

Also why does my muffler drip water? does this mean i have to refill my radiator?

My own two cents....don't care. Turn it on, turn it off, so fucking what?

I do find it interesting how many people absolutely lose their shit over something so minor and trivial. It shows how broken we are as a specie.

When wheeling offroad the constant "reminder" that startstop is not ready is also garbage.
Curious - how do you get that unless on that screen?

Worse of all it takes about 30,000 to 40,000 miles of "driving" to save enough fuel just to cover the cost of one ESS battery replacement. I didn't even hit 20k before my first battery failure.
Go to the 4xe forums that arne't related to this forum and check for "12 volt battery failure". You'll see dozens of them - and there's not nearly as many members there as here! Some lost the 12v battery inside of 6 months, some took a year, others lost them at under 2 years and it gets really bad when you see those over 3 years in on their Jeeps.
Not arguing there aren't battery problems - just saying - it's not ESS - Jeep uses CRAP BATTERIES.
We lose the main battery just as easily. (and the 4xe doesn't even HAVE an aux battery or ESS)
Jeep = crap batteries.
I will add - and it's made worse since we have two, and the small one isn't a walk in the park to get to.
Not arguing, just adding information in the vein that - Jeep uses bad batteries. In everything.

Even the Pacifa and Grand Cherokee 4xe owners gripe about their batteries going bad.
Jeep has a battery life issue. Some of us go 3 or 4 years just fine, but the numbers who do not are far from small.

You mean so highly annoyed by some really small stuff that really doesn't matter in the world?

You hit on why I avoid Instacrap and Tikletok and the "life hacks" and craziness there. It's like another planet of non-humans.

I see you're one of those "last word" kind of trolls. Go ahead - give it your best shot.
The more I read, and from post #1 onward, it almost appears as if you came here armed to the teeth maybe "looking for it". Am I wrong?
Have you been to the Jeep FB pages? If you think this is a fun place, check out the Corvette people, and put on your flame-proof suit. Some of the AMC people will rip you a dozen new ones if they are in that mood. Don't even think of suggesting a Mustang has any flaws in their areas.

Knowing "Rusty" as I do (well, not well, but well enough), he's among the last I'd call a "troll". He's extremely smart, very experienced, far from a troll but enjoys his fun and is one I have learned a lot from.
You keep coming back as if you are looking to "trigger" people and then with the "give it your best shot" bit when you get certain responses. It's rather apparent you weren't looking for friends on page one of the Mojave X steel bumper thread. Right away, right out of the gate.....

The guy is having some fun, while at the same time sort of putting a point out there. Get to know him - I think you'd like him. Love his performance cars, and his career experiences - WOW.

In short - you're wrong. The guy jumped on me with a bunch of insulting comments. I started out mentioning using a magnet. The next thing I know this guy is flogging me with his why the hell do you need a magnet crap. It looks like you missed all of that. You two can continue on with the mutual admiration society. To me, he's just a lonely guy trying to hold on to the glory days. I actually feel a bit of sympathy for him.

What are we doing ?
Amos asked a poll question “what is your opinion on ESS? ” You have two choices, enter your opinion , should be enough.
There are results you can view, some for and some against. Some people like it , some don’t, and some like it when driving on highways but not in traffic, it’s their opinion, it’s all good.
This thread has been high jacked into an embarrassing , bickering ,poor representation of this Forum!
good day folks…Jack

I'm glad that Jeep was nice enough to include a button that allows me to turn it off. I just wish that it would remember my choice of off and keep it off when I get in and start it up. My BMWs always remembered this choice. Why can't my Gladiator? I know someone will spout off something about a Tazer, but I should not have to buy something and keep it plugged into my OBDII port to override a setting that the car should be able to store.

For the jeep jl/jt. Is it favorable or unfavorable?
My answer will be just as scientific as the poll itself... I've had the JT for just over two years, and ESS has done its job flawlessly in that time. With the auto, my foot has never hit the gas pedal before the engine was ready to go. With real world use, my average fuel economy has also never topped 14.5 mpg, so I welcome anything that saves a few teaspoons of gas here and there.

Not that I’m in favor of the reasoning but isn’t the jive behind the ESS to lower emissions?
Yeah pretty much snake oil. With the insta meter on the dash I can alter my foot pressure for better MPGs. Driver mode FTW

I'm sorry. What you said made me think of some of things happening with our elected officials and what they do. The dog catcher was some dark humor that pops out every now and then.

Must be the same reason why your cold can of Coke’s got water dripping off the sides. So make sure you refill it with a little more water, before you drink it.
