Lame?
There's a highway icon for miles, a gas pump for mpg, and a clock icon for time. A lot of vehicles use that same sort of icon scheme. Heck, my John Deere lawn tractor has an hour meter - with a clock symbol.

Icons aren't supposed to move - they are icons!

Duh, GhostBusters
I had a case where a lot of stuff was moving in my truck. I got up to the stopping point at Pike's Peak, pulled into the lot, hit the brakes and put it in P and damn the truck was still moving, the dash was moving - stuff was moving that should not be moving. Whoa.

It's a trip clock not a clock clock. It's supposed to be used for navigation and fuel consumption calculations. Similar to using a topo map, compass and cadence beads.

For instance you could set the trip timer and the trip odometer and then gauge how long it took you and how far you traveled in two dimensions to cover a specific distance in one dimension on the map. What would be most helpful then would be a way to see specific tank volume in absolute gallons or liters(quarts) to then correlate how much fuel in units you used from which you could extrapolate your range in time, distance or fuel.

But for most of us it's a useless function that got added because someone thought hey wouldn't it be cool if... been there since the JK and I can count on one hand the number of times I've used it; ZERO.

Had you acquainted yourself with Colorado's pot laws just before driving up the Peak?

LOL - no, forgot about that HA. I have a feeling the altitude, thin air, combined with Meniere's made for a Beetlejuice sort of experience.

I feel ya. Tinnitus in one ear and half deaf in the other lol. The constant 440V 3-phase transformer singing on old Navy ship etc. When I was younger I would experience what you are talking about after riding dirt bikes etc. Usually only for a few minutes after stopping though.
