What is wheel load rating and why is it important for towing? I recently found a good deal on some new wheels but wanted to make sure I'm making an informed decision before buying. Someone mentioned wheel load rating the other day but I cant find that post.

Any way, can someone help me understand what I should be looking for?

The goal is for the wheels to be able to support the load rating of each axle.

Check your door sticker for the GAWR of each axle, and be sure that a pair of wheels will be rated for that load.

I think the JT GAWR is 3100/3750 front/rear, so you'd want to be sure that each wheel is rated for at least half of 3750lbs, so 1875lbs.

Thank you for that. I’m understanding better or clearer now. Luckily the wheels I was looking at fall within that range.
