@Mightytalldude and I, along with two friends in a TJ and JL, went up Saxon mountain road from Georgetown, CO, and descended via Cascade Creek Rd into Idaho Springs. It was a great day of wheeling. Great trails with fantastic views. No damage or winching this time.

So the day started out with my wife saying, let’s go see the lake. We were camping and apparently there was a lake further up the road. There was no plan for wheeling, as she’s not the biggest fan. And then…the day got much more interesting. Thanks belly skid!

I can sometimes. But I lose points fast when this happens. In all seriousness, she’s unbelievable. In two years, I took a brand new expensive vehicle and tore it apart dozens of times. I spent lots of money doing it. And she continues to support my hobby. She actually likes that I now have a vehicle I’m ok with scratching.

Got invited to join a night run up to Bill Moore Lake, outside Empire, CO. great group. Got to push through some remaining snow and play on some big rocks.

Pretty simple setup. AEV Dualsport high capacity kit, 35” falken, Arb bumper and harbor freight winch, Alu Cab canopy to hold the tent on top and basic camping setup inside when we travel. Planning to keep it this way for a while. It’s our first Jeep. Look too closely and you see all the trail scrapes but from 25’ back it looks new still.

Yesterday. Engineer pass in CO with friends in their stock 4 runner. I must give credit to their great driving. All season road tires on a bone stock base model. No damage and they made the summit without issue. Just had to choose good lines. We did it from Ouray to Lake City, so the hard way was uphill to the summit. One of the most beautiful roads I can imagine. I summitted the actual mountain at over 13,200’ with the gladiator. It was sketchy, but worth it. I looked down 500 feet at the Jeeps at the pass summit. I don’t recommend the summit for most. A single mistake was a total loss. No margin for error. Long day. Lifetime memories. I wouldn’t change a thing.

On the way to Escalante in Utah we drove on an unpaved dirt road that used a river-bed as road for a while, went across three streams, found some deer, and an old cabin
