I can confirm that it’s a glitch. I had this happen to me this past week one day, and once I turned the truck off and back on it went back to normal. Glad I’m not crazy.
Guess I'll keep my 2020 Gladiator doesn't have this glitch. You can also observe your MPG by watching the color wheel. Or program the instant MPG be one of the options in the upper display.

IS this strictly related to having or having had a tazer, not a Jeep thing?
Mine always comes up perfect.
But in almost every case I've see so far, there's a tazer involved (so likely they could resolve it on their end)
If it's not tazer related, and a tazer has never been installed, then report it to the dealer - make sure they send it up the chain. With enough reports they'll investigate it and a fix may be developed. If you just accept it as a glitch and everyone else just shrugs it off - they don't even think of blaming Jeep - they can't resolve what they don't know about.

In other words, report it or stop yer bitchen LOL

I have no tazer and it bugs out for me. For those without a Tazer I had good luck both times getting it back just resetting the to the default options in the cluster. Both times it has come back within about 30min and 2-3 restarts. Reset it turn it off, on, then off, and let it sit. Come back in 20-30 min and start it up and it should be back. This worked for me 2x now.

If this doesn't work an interim solution is to turn one of the corners into current MPG vs outside temp, compass etc.

Well....

My 2020 gladiator had no issues with this.

My 2022 diesel with a tazer is now intermittently not showing instant mpg figure as in numerical and seems to be stuck and not flip back and forth between the two screen options. It alwasy just shows its in the "right" side box.

Randomly comes back when it feels like it too :).

Doesnt bother me as theres a sweeping bar graph doing the exact same function.

Glitch, You can toggle back and forth between one showing the MPG arc and also shows range, and one that has the arc and doesn't display range. When working properly it displays both range and current MPG. The dots at the bottom of the menu indicating different pages appear to stop moving as well.

Glitch or are people not arrowing over to the option

Using the left or right arrows brought up either a blank screen with just the average MPG or the range displayed underneath the average MPG.

It does not need a tazer to repro, in fact I had this before getting the Tazer and marrying it solved the issue for a little bit before it came back. So nothing to do with it.
Then it looks like a new 2022 issue - it would be interesting to know what tazer interacts with that it can cause a change (back to normal, for example, even if for a while)

There aren't any new features in the cluster for 2022 that I didn't see in the 2020 or 21 so - what did they do, or, is this due to a hardware change due to chip sourcing issues?

I've compared displays of the 2020 to the 2022 and don't see anything displayed differently, no different options unless I've missed something.
I do know that a simple single change in an electronic component, either an IC or a discrete component, can do weird stuff.
When I designed the computer control interfaces for CCC's Series 4 controllers, I had to maintain contact with the system board engineers at Young Microsystems in California as any change on their boards impacted me.
And the EEs who made the Series IV controllers - extremely strict on the chips and components used - even down to the brand. A chip made by TI may work perfectly but the same chip, same part, made by Motorola didn't work. So if they couldn't get the exact part their design used, they couldn't just substitute without further engineering.
I found on the systems I was involved with, the order of expansion cards in the slots mattered even though all slots were "the same". It was a matter of timing.
So is Jeep running into similar things with having to find different sources for parts?

This has nothing to do with the display choice.
And you use SETUP to get that to display that instant mpg initially. They don't come configured like that from the factory.
Sitting, engine running or switch in run mode, toggle up and down until you reach the settings screen, then set it up how you want - I set mine to display as in the pic I posted.
From then on, that's your default display. No need to toggle left or right unless you want the other screen without that.
No, this isn't user error, not by any stretch. They know what they had, they know what's missing, because they used the setup screen to make it the way they wanted it.

I am pretty sure these guys know how to use the L/R arrows LOL
If it was there and is now gone - it's not user error.

I do my share of blaming users - this definitely isn't one of those times ?

So I have more/new/additional information now and have to modify my thoughts -
Jeep apparently made some change - likely hardware, could be software, for 2022 that is introducing a hiccup.
Users directly stating no tazer or it was present before tazer. It's not tazer although adding or removing tazer can see the display change, the original issue isn't related to tazer use.

It's not a matter of users not scrolling to the correct screen. It was there, now it's not there, it may be back tomorrow. Not user error.

Hey, JEEP! ;-)

Hey, JEEP! ;-)
All I ever had to add was the range to the existing instant and avg MPG to show all 3

Built JKUR to an F150 FX4, to my 2022 Mojave!

I've not had it since then. So it was pretty early on. How many miles did you have?

1,400. I haven’t had it happen again, so it’s only done it once.

no tazer here yet and mine stopped displaying a couple weeks ago.

I pretty much despise the dealerships though…. So not sure I want to potentially inflict other new issues by taking it in…..

@JeepCares they watch the forums right?
