Do we know which model of the 8sp will be used? Sorry if posted earlier. I think the designations are 8HPxx and assume each bigger number handles more tq.

What do y’all know? Different by model (Sport vs Rubicon)?

It looks like all 3.6L trims with automatics will get the 850RE 8-speed transmission. It's rated 500Nm max torque (369 lb ft). At some point, the diesel was supposed to be mated with the 8HP75 which is rated at 750Nm max torque (553 lb ft).

Wonder if a swap is plug and play with programming? Any boost on the 3.6 would overpower 369lb ft.

Do you happen to know the torque limit on the Aisin 6-speed?

I guess I should clarify - I meant the 6-speed manual Aisin as used in the JT.

EDIT: according to oilburner the 6MT is rated to a max 272 lb ft, which doesn't leave much head room over the 3.6's 360 lb ft.

DOUBLE EDIT: it looks like 272 lb ft is for the old JK NSG370 transmission and not the new Aisin D478. The torque capacity of the Aisin is still unknown.
