So...I've been reading that the Sport S, with the Max Tow Package is THE choice for heavy payload. I had been thinking Rubicon, because I want one, even though rock crawling doesn't make my top 10 list. I intend to permanently install a 4WC pop-up topper ("Project M") and live on the road full time, firs for a year in North America, before heading to South America for another year. Since I'll be carrying at least 10 gallons of water, and an extra 10 or more of gas, and a fridge, house battery, and solar . . . mostly on good dirt roads, I need weight capacity before rock crawling ability. This is replacing an older F150 FX4, rather than a Wrangler.

Is the Sport S, with Max Tow the choice for me?

With what you have set out to do it sounds like a Max-Tow would be a great starting point. Cargo capacity in /on bed, heavy duty springs in it. I've hauled over 800 lbs of concrete in my Max-Tow it was just starting to level it up.
