How many of you are running an ARB twin compressor off the 40amp Aux switch? Had any issues with maxing out the switch amperage?

Most people wire on and off to the aux switches and power the compressor directly to the battery. Which isn't a problem at all.

The compressor itself, I believe have 50 amp in line fuses.

This is what I did.....figured with a pair of 40A fuses, no way the oe wiring was going to fly!

Did any of you put a relay on the power going to the compressor? I'll be installing it on the front wall of the bed (bed is covered) and would prefer not to have 40amps of power running hot back there all the time.

My thought is to put a relay as close to the battery as possible and control that relay with one of the Aux switches. Thoughts?

Single or double doesn't matter...you're really just running a relay switch from the Aux switch (compressor runs from direct battery power).. I don't recall the dual's really amp but it isn't over 40amps. I run my single ARB off the 15amp one, for example.

*I would NOT bypass the provided ARB relay harness.

I am going to use a 80 amp Blue Sea circuit breaker near the battery. Then run 6ga to positive and negative buss bars. Where and how have not been determined yet.

I kinda freaked out when I saw the power wires had two 40amp fuses. So I changed my installation plans and just put a rocker switch near the air chuck. Didn't occur to me that I can extend the rocker switch wires to the axillary switch bank. Anyways, what's done is done, makes more sense to have the switch outside the cab and near the chuck I think.
