He's dead.Super Dave????
That’s very true. In 1973 they had the CJ-5 and CJ-6 (long wheelbase version of CJ-5). Standard engine was a 232 IL6 with options for a 258IL6 and 304V8. Trans option were a 3 speed manual and a 4 speed manual with a super-low 1st gear.They didn't have Wranglers in 1973.
I never knew how they came up with the name Wrangler. I found an article (https://autoreviewhub.com/jeep-wrangler-years/) that stated "When it reached the public, it was riding on Goodyear’s Wrangler tires. Goodyear was alright with Jeep using the name, but Wrangler jeans didn’t find it as amicable. The company sued Jeep, and the lawsuit dragged on for years before the jean company’s owner decided to drop it."That’s very true. In 1973 they had the CJ-5 and CJ-6 (long wheelbase version of CJ-5). The Gladiator name had dropped odd of the pickup when AMC bought Jeep and they became the J-10 and J-20.
I always thought it was interesting that Jeep had a Levi themed option for the CJ. Either denim blue with orange stitching, or tan. Both with signature red Levi tags sewn into the side seam. But then later on they chose the name Wrangler (Wrangler jeans being a competitor of Levi’s)
And yet his Heep lives on...Sad...He's dead.
If that Jeep in the OP had anything to do with it, it must have been a starting point for the script of Brokeback Mountain.I never knew how they came up with the name Wrangler.
