Want to put my winch and aux lights on a relay off my aux switches. Does anyone make a kit cheaper than this?

I put the same kit on mine, worth the money to me to not have a hot wire running from my battery to the winch.

I have a source for solenoids that look exactly like that, through the place I buy my bulk starter and alternator repair parts from. I need to check the rating of the solenoid. I can get the solenoids alone for 1/3 of that through my supplier - but I need to check the ratings.

. The line your interrupting can have over 300 amps of electricity depending on the load of your winch. If you go to small you will burn up your winch motor

It's a maybe - I have an account and get wholesale prices on some things - but - I need to check specs. One I've looked at is 200 amps, will need to dig further. Last time I needed something I was looking for brushes for 1970s Prestolite windshield wiper motors and couldn't find them anywhere. I contacted this supplier and they said "oh, we have those, how many do you want" so if I don't find it in their literature, I'll contact them and ask.

I put the same kit on mine, worth the money to me to not have a hot wire running from my battery to the winch.
Is there a brand or part number on that solenoid? Cole-Hersee, for example, is one brand........

That's one reason I'm looking to my supplier - besides automotive electric, they have a marine electrical section and pages of solenoids and solenoid repair parts.

Warn’s kit is perfect. All the cheaper options don’t include the wiring or connectors. You’ll end up spending as much to do it the cheap way and not have as clean an install in my opinion.

With all the $$$$$ we put into our Jeeps, less getting change back from a hundred is always welcome!

I was thinking the same thing as op, the Warm option seemed unnecessarily overpriced especially since I only needed the solenoid as I have all the cables already. I ended up finding a similar, if not the same, solenoid on Amazon for under $20 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072MZHK4...t_i_ZVYWTJ3CEKHY5Q0GG86W?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1.

I haven't had a chance to install it yet but at first blush it seems like it should work.

Depending on the size of your winch. 300 amps may not be enough. A 10,000 lb winch will pull over 400 amps.

Even if your winch pulls a max of 300 amps.......
That 300 on a solenoid is MAX transient current - surge, not working. Working current is likely to be 150. Be very wary of the solenoids advertised as "xxx amp" as that's max for a second or two, not working current.

In short, if you run a solenoid advertised as 300 amps at that for 15 seconds it may not hold up.

Here's the kicker on that Amazon cheapie - not for winch use, IMO ->

Note: Normally Make 80A as Working Current, Need Break 5 sec on, 50 min off
