I have seen a few forum strings out there for modding the non-rubi bumper (mostly plastic) with a fabricated winch plate. Based on some of the posts on the JL forum it appears that there is a demand for this product and it will crossover between the JL and JT. I want to keep the stock bumper and add a winch without blocking most of the radiator (which is what there is available now). You guys have a great designed plate for the 3 piece steel rubi bumper, Any chance of you guys fabricating one for the stock JT/JL bumper.

We have been thinking about engineering options for the plastic bumper (hoops, winch plates, etc) but the demand has not been huge. If we did decide to go that route, we are talking months of engineering, prototyping, R&D, and testing.

A recessed winch mount for the plastic bumper is a huge undertaking for several reasons:
* Would require extensive cutting to the plastic bumper
* We would have to come up with a clever fairlead reinforcement bracket, since the plastic bumper is not strong enough to hold/operated the fairlead.

In conclusion, it's unlikely that we will be manufacturing the part you are looking for. It's more likely that we may come-up with a winch plate that sits ontop the plastic bumper. I will talk to the engineers but I'm doubtful.

Thank you for responding. I agree it would not be a simple install. I have looked into the top plate- which would work for a rig that doesn't do any towing, but blocks about 35% of the radiator area depending on the winch, so on the jT would probably be a nonstarter.

If you haven't seen this string, this is a build with the stock plastic bumper and fabricating a winch plate with a large amount of plastic surgery. He does a great job on it, but I agree it limits the marketability when this much work is involved in the installation. He does however address the fairlead concerns and the additional support issues, and the fabrication appears pretty straightforward-

Thanks again and let me know if you guys decide to throw your hats in the ring on a mod, a little plastic surgery never scared me....

Good information here. I will make sure our engineers take a look at this.
