I'm taking a buddy wheeling in a couple weeks that has never been. He has a JLU. What tools do I need to disconnect his front sway bar? I'm familiar with the procedure on a TJ but never messed with a JL.

Wrenches, sockets, impact driver. You’ll be removing the sway bar links I assume?

Yes, just disconnecting for the trail. On my TJ you could just zip tie them up out of the way. Was looking for specific tools needed. Don't want to take the whole garage.

If you look on JLwranglerforum they will surely have a thread (or two) on that very thing.

Just remove the lower bolt on each side. Swing them up and zip tie out of the way.

Yes. This. I do it on my Sport S. I have a 18 inch socket and an 18 inch wrench, zip ties, and plastic zip tie cutters.

I just remove the lower bolts and zip tie the links to the sway bar. Then I zip tie up the sway bar. I turn the wheels hard to each side and it makes it a lot easier to access the links.
