Thanks - but Ohio is still 11-12 hours away one way making it a two day trip (with tolls to boot + $200 for gas)

If you check out the marketplace of the book of faces you will see a few suspensions being sold within 100mi of you.

And here one of my jobs for the gubmt was research - and I can't find what you and someone else were talking about. I did a pretty extensive search (an hour or so much to my wife's dismay) and found nothing - not JT anyway, all older stuff, nothing very close. 100 miles is nothing in the grand scheme of things - a couple of hours.
I must be spelling something wrong.

My mistake I didn’t see my own results showing “no results within 100mi” and was showing for places like Lincoln NE

So it sounds like you are keeping the Overland, good choice

My preference is to spend the money difference on this IF IT CAN actually cover my needs.
It would cost at least 10 grand, likely more, for a trade. Would it have the very good steering this one has? The lack of squeaks, lack of leaks, lack of rattles? Dunno - so I am willing to factor all of that in.

I can beef up the back and keep it from sagging so badly with different springs - preferably max tow springs. Then perhaps Rubicon shocks or at least better than stock Overland shocks.
The towing itself - with the 3.73 ratio I am pretty concerned because my Chevy was constantly, and I mean all the time in our hills, hunting gears - high, then drop a gear, oops, speed still dropping, down another gear it goes, over that hill, up to high again, next hill, drop a gear. I mean on I80 east of Newton, eastbound toward IL - the thing wouldn't go 2 miles without shifting several times. It was an LS V8.
The overland has 3.73 or whatever gears - not 4.10. So I'm concerned about that 3.6 constantly hunting gears. For checking that out I absolutely will have to load up and drive it a few miles. If it behaves like that here - I'm in trouble.
I also figure that buying wheels and tires -take-offs from a JT Rubicon won't be money lost. Even if I had to trade later, I'd have another set of wheels and could swap tires depending on need. Or sell 'em again with little loss.

When we drove the JT to my wife's aunt's house yesterday, I kept track of the shifting on the way there and back. Granted it was only 55 limit but it hardly ever touched 8th, it spent a lot of time in 6th, and some up and down shifting. That was with no load - well, I was in it! LOL

So I'd like to stick with the Overland - even rigging it better for towing may be cheaper - if it's doable.
No matter what, even if I was going to trade, it wouldn't happen fast so I'd like to get this outfitted better for our winter.
And if I can modify it for my needs - cool. I figure if my wife was ok with trading up, and I told her the cost, I have at least 10 grand to play with.
It would be nice if I could make this one work and keep it.
It's paid for!

But this being Iowa, there just won't be anything close by to help out - striking out on tires/wheels anywhere close.

I would imagine IA man be sparse, but I know people who have had luck obtaing take offs from dealers or 4 wheel shops that lift vehicles.

Most are more than happy to get rid of them.

As far as the hunting gears, any reason you cannot use manual mode?

I've checked 4 dealers, including Spirit Lake - two said nope, don't have anything, don't do that sort of thing often, the one where I bought said they don't do ANY modifications or lifts or tire changes - they send those out to a third party. Spencer said they don't have anything.
I checked two other shops - a tire shop and "Total Truck" - nothing on hand (JTs are scarce here, too) - and the one shop did have Rubicon wheels but the tires were Toyo 34" wide S+M tires, not rated for more than basic snow. No standard issue Rubicon tires.
Absolutely no springs or other parts at all around here.
The Toyo tires looked good, FILLED the wheels wells on my truck when they tried one on the front - but not the tree peak mountain symbol.
Can't even find the wheels with tires so I would not expect to find any other JT parts at all.

Would you be interested in some 35x12x17 falken at3w's and some rocktrix 105 wheels? They have just under 4k miles on them. Put them on my gladiator the day I brought it home from spirit lake, but I have the itch to go to 37's with different color wheels.

They'd not clear without a lift as I had tested a 34 on the left front and it totally filled the opening.

Sorry, just won't work without a lift or some more clearance in some way.

I have to make a trip at some point in the near future to Indiana, Fort Wayne area, so anything in that area would work, or between here and there.

Found and bought a set of 4 wheels and tires, now would like to find one matching Rubicon wheel and Falken A/T to match the other 4 I'll be picking up in a week or so.
Might be harder to find just one - but thought I'd ask here anyway.
I'll be making a trip to Omaha soon, and to Fort Wayne soon as well, so anything in those areas might work well.
