This is ingenious. Was there a pin that was direct to the positive battery terminal? I guess there's a spare terminal in that socket and you ran the positive through it, and just tapped the ground?

I better do the same mod. Thanks for the idea.
The seven pin plug has hot and ground connections in it. You can buy a 12v power port adapter for about $20 and use it to connect a battery maintainer with the cigarette lighter adapter that they usually come with.

And I have my answer! Thank you. I would have kept reading but the internet is dodgey at work.
Should be #1 for ground and #4 for 12v positive.

Another idea I had not thought of, the cigarette lighter socket! Thanks! I usually hard wire the cables that come with battery tenders direct to the battery, which involves opening the hood of course to plug in. Or routing the plug somewhere else. I'm gonna get the 7 pin plug and shove it in the bung hole.

Maybe I got lucky but when I took my 2021 Mojave in for service at my fav dealer last time they told me both batteries tested poorly and replaced them under warranty. I thanked them and went home saying wow didn't expect that.

Great information here. Seems like cheap insurance to avoid some aggravation. Got the gear on order.:)

It isn't model specific, it's an options thing. AUX switch trucks all have the bigger main. Any package that forces the bigger alternator also has it.
I'm a bit confused. My JTM build sheet says I have the 240 A alternator but the OEM battery says 650 CCA which shows up in the standard equipment section. Would that be the larger battery? I don't have Aux Switches but I have the tow package and cold weather group.

The optional battery is 750cca. Check all the way through the build sheet and see if it's listed near the end with the package upgrades. Which battery is actually installed in the truck?

No aux, no 750 battery.

All tow package comes with the 240a alternator.

I'll check later. The build sheet doesn't have an entry for battery in the Optional Equipment section

It's 650 CCA. I noticed the plastic spacer in the front of the tray as mentioned in other posts.
