I'm in the market for something to haul my kayaks above the cab. Did you have any specific reasons this Overhaul rack wouldn't work? I have the folding soft tonneau I'd like to keep. any experience if such would work?

The rack would definitely work for that, just not with your tonneau cover. This rack mounts in one of two ways. It either "clamps" to the side of the bed or with the use of the Tonneau Cover Kit 1, it will mount to a Retrax tonneau cover (which they do not make for the JT yet). I tried to get it to work with the Backflip Revolver X4S that has the full length T-slots. Backflip did not make the mount wide enough to work properly. The mounts interfere with the roll up cover.
