Im planning on tigging up a front bumper, I was wondering, what thickness of aluminum are you guys using for your bumpers? This will prob be 6061. I have the plastic bumper that I will ditch, and instead of having a winch plate I will just use 2 1x2 steel tubing sections as that is what I did in my xj to shave some weight but keep the strength.

3/16 minimum. I believe some bumper manufacturers use 1/4. 3/16 seems to be the standard of good quality steel ones. Fabricator by trade. Just my opinion.
