Vehicle tow figures are determined by a standardized set of tests known as SAE J2807, the certification process for vehicle tow rating. The tests put the vehicle through acceleration test, brake distance tests, skid pad test, sway test and a uphill towing test in 100 degree weather. Check out the specifics of the tests inside.
