I've wanted a Jeep since I was 14 years old. Now, at 36 I finally have one! I can't wait to start building this out to be the overland camping vehicle that my son, now 3yrs old, will grow to remember as our adventure truck - and hopefully, he'll take over the keys when he starts driving to have his own adventures.

Looking forward to learning from this group and sharing what we do to our Texas Trail, named ZERO by my son.

Outstanding! I was in the same boat as wanting a Jeep since around the age of 14. It took me 42 years to get mine though. It is absolutely turning into one of my favorite vehicles of my life. Have fun with your new Jeep, for me the last 16 months of ownership have been great!

Congratulations what a great accomplishment! Enjoy your new ride - take it slow and drive it for a while before you start your mods - take a look at the marketplace on here as there are always many good deals to be had. This is a great forum for knowledge and advise.

My wait was 40 years (14 to 54) bit totally worth it. I have had mine since June and make any excuse I can to go drive it.

The advice above about taking the mods slow is solid. I have a list longer than my arm but it keeps changing which is part of the fun. I am starting with the "wife approved" mods. So far, besides cheap stuff like a stubby antennae, center console storage, etc that aren’t what I would call mods, I have installed a hard tonneau cover. It went so well she is OK with one that Santa will likely bring to me—mud flaps with a running board. This forum has provided all the advice on that.

Congrats its a good feeling. I got my jeep for the same reason. Make sure you think out your build. Do not rush to order parts or settle on cheap. You will end up with a garage full of junk and empty pockets lol.

We're almost in the same exact spot lol. I am 37 with a 2.5 year old and another coming end of the month. Work was my life and priority, until I had my kid now it's family time.

Thanks for the heads up. We’re def going to take our time with this build and use this forum to get feedback from those who’ve built before me.
