Not sure why, but my previous 2020 had the Mopar Factory Twill Soft Top. When I traded it in the red straps that ran front to back and both shredded in two different spots on each. I'd read several others had similar issues with the straps, which are not repairable. The Gladiator had less than 35k on it, I bought it with 12k on it. So expected it to last longer, I'd be hesitant now to buy another from my experience.

I have toiled back and forth on this. I knew what bumper I wanted and I really wanted to order everything at once. Bumper won't get here until 8/24.:(

I've toiled between bedside MOLLE panels and a cover or get a rack just in case I go RTT in the future. For camping in general I prefer a ground tent but I have been to fishing tourneys way out from home where the ramp is a HUGE paved parking lot and you can't get off the pavement. A RTT helps there.

The bed cover I have attaches on the back of the rails with thumb screws, easily removed when the wife and I pop the bed tent up in the bed. It fits easily in the back seat with other gear we want protected from "walking" off. The Bedrug (Herculiner) comfortliner is padded, very comfortable on the kness and back. That was my solution for not adding the extra weight of a rack and RTT. Just throwing another idea/option out there for you.

Truxedo x15. I own 2 on 2 trucks, will be putting a 3rd on our next truck here soon. It is velcro, but works very very well, looks great and is easy to use.
Right on, let me know when you're ready to get one on there. 😎

I had a Bed Rug on a truck a number of years ago. I loved the padding but I got a load of mulch once and like to never got it cleaned and mine got wet and mildewed. Have they changed the water resistance in the last number of years?

I'm sorry to hear that yours mildewed. Typically, letting it air dry in the sun for some time does the trick. It's still the same material, design, and fit. Only the name has changed.

If I have to hual anything like that...unlikely, I probably would just have it delivered, I'll do what I do when I go deer hunting and throw a tarp in the bed.

I have the Bestop version and it is fine, but over time the velcro isn't as strong as when you first buy it. I would rather have the factory one, but the Bestop was way cheaper.

After going back and forth 50,000 times I hit the button about 11:30PM last night on a bed rack.

I waffled so hard between dry storage of a cover and a place to put my cargo boxes. I did not want to do another roof rack and lose the ability to take the panels or top off. Plus one of the things I really wanted was to get that weight off the drip rails and onto the bed frame. I'm liable to camp or go off road at the drop of a hat so my cargo boxes have my baseline camping gear and recovery gear in them and stay on the Jeep 24/7. Another thing is I still have my bed for truck things and dead animals or I'd fill it up with cargo boxes and have no room for anything else.

I got a "half" rack so when my boxes go on top it's still going to be relatively level to the roof line.

Cool deal man. Glad you came to a decision! The truck thing is why I went roll up, the Bedrug was more of an asthetic/camping deal. I don't haul dirt and rocks, unless it's in bags, and when I go hunting, like I said a tarp will go in the bed. If any blood gets on the liner, pressure washer and soap. I need my full bed to haul 4x12 speaker cabinets upright, and my rack gear and guitars when I go play some where, and also when the wife decides she wants a new piece of furniture or appliance. We just do easy and moderate trails, and some dispersed/ boondock camping and the roll up cover helps keep mud and dust off and out of our gear. I'm glad you found a solution that works for you bro!! ✌🤘🤘

Yeah I have two long cargo boxes and two smaller ones. If I kept them in the bed under a cover full time, I'd have to take them out and put them back in every time I was going to haul something. Plus my gas cans I'd prefer to be on the rack out of my bed.

I used to think gas cans were for show, but as my Dad used to say, "You can't teach everybody but you sure can learn'em." I got learned earlier in the year wheeling Prentice Cooper. We got so deep and started running low on gas. By the time we got out of the park to go get gas we had a good commute just to get to a station. Then a couple of weeks ago my wife and I wheeled Red River Gorge/Daniel Boone and the town we stayed in had ZERO chain restaurants and only 2 gas stations and the whole town rolled up the sidewalks at 2-3PM. If I hadn't had my gas can I couldn't have made it back to base and got gas the next day.
